Philadelphia, Pa. – Jess Huber scored 23 points to lead 17th-ranked University of the Sciences to a 71-51 win over the 19th-ranked Le Moyne College women's basketball team on the second day of the NE10/CACC Challenge at Bobby Morgan Arena.
The Dolphins were led offensively by redshirt junior guard
Liz Millea (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown), who had 11 points to go along with six rebounds. Sophomore forward
Emma Brinker (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) followed with a career-best 10 points, including eight in the fourth quarter. Seniors
McKayla Roberts (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) and
Colleen Corcoran (Beverly, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) each tallied nine points, while Roberts had her streak of 31 consecutive games with at least one three-pointer snapped after going 0-for-4.
Huber tallied 12 of her game-high point total in the first quarter on 4-of-5 shooting from behind the three-point line. Irisa Ye recorded 14 points, including seven in the second quarter, and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Jordan Vitelli was the third member of the Devils to reach double figures with 10 points
Le Moyne (1-1) is back in action on Wednesday at East Stroudsburg University at 6:00 p.m.
