Buffalo, N.Y. – Junior attackman Riley Larson (Fairfield, Conn./Ludlowe) scored a career-high four goals to lead the eighth-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 14-10 win over fellow eighth-ranked Seton Hill University on Saturday afternoon at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute.

The Dolphins opened game's scoring just 30 seconds into the contest and led 2-0 after only 79 seconds. Junior attackman Matt Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) got the Dolphins on the scoreboard at the 14:30 mark off a pass from senior midfielder Dan Entenmann (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn). Larson tallied his first goal of the day with 13:41 left in the quarter after collecting a feed from Entenmann.

Seton Hill answered with two goals in a span of 2:46 to knot the score at two. John Hofseth scored off a pass from Logan Maloni with 9:32 to go. Robert Hofseth then scored at the 6:46 mark off a feed from John Hofseth.

Le Moyne regained the lead with the last three goals of the quarter. Hutchings tallied his second goal of the day with 6:09 left off a feed from freshman midfielder Colin Sypek (Lake Worth, Fla./American Heritage School). Just 90 seconds later, junior midfielder Hans Zimmer (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) found the back of the net for the first time this season. Sypek then scored with 2:39 remaining for his second tally of the year.

Sophomore attackman Evan Kelly (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Aquinas Institute) pushed Le Moyne's lead to 6-2 with his third goal of the campaign with 11:53 to go in the half.

The Griffins countered with four straight goals over 3:24 to tie the score at six. After Zack Estabrooks picked off a clearing pass by the Dolphins, he tallied an extra-man goal with 8:53 left. Following another Le Moyne penalty, John Hofseth scored with 8:18 after taking a pass from Maloni. John Miller made it 6-5 with an unassisted tally with 6:21 remaining. Estabrooks evened the score with 5:29 remaining in the half and the teams carried the tie into the intermission.

Le Moyne took the lead back with the first three goals of the third quarter. Larson finished off a pass from Entenmann with 10:04 left to put the Dolphins back in front. He then netted an unassisted goal with 6:42 to go for an 8-6 lead. Hutchings capped the spurt with an unassisted marker with 4:33 remaining in the quarter.

Seton Hill answered with back-to-back goals to get within one. Estabrooks made the score 9-7 with 2:57 left off a pass from John Hofseth. Just over one minute later, Bennett Johnson scored off a feed from Maloni.

The Dolphins pushed their lead back to three with the last two goals of the quarter. For the third time in the game, Larson found the back of the net off a feed from Entenmann with 47 ticks left in the period. With just five seconds remaining, senior attackman Ryan Cosgrove (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) scored his first goal of the season.

Le Moyne continued its run with the first two goals of the fourth quarter to take a 13-8 lead. Junior midfielder Ross Filtch (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus/Siena) scored at the 10:40 for his first tally of the season. Just 37 seconds later, senior midfielder Josh Slowinski (Williamsville, N.Y./Clarence) scored in an extra-man situation off a feed from Kelly.

Johnson got the Griffins within 13-9 with an unassisted goal with 8:58 to play.

Slowinski finished off Le Moyne's scoring with 6:28 remaining off a feed from Hutchings.

John Hofseth completed the game's scoring with an unassisted goal with 1:46 to play.

Junior goalkeeper Riley Smith (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Onondaga C.C.) registered 12 saves, including seven in the second quarter, to earn his first win as a Dolphin. Max Eismann made five of his 12 saves in the fourth quarter.
 
Le Moyne (1-1), which fell to the Griffins by the same score in last year's NCAA quarterfinals, returns to action on Wednesday at Roberts Wesleyan College at 7:00 p.m.
