DeWitt, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team registered its fifth straight home victory this season by topping the University of the District of Columbia, 7-0, on Friday at Elevate Fitness.

Tom Jarry (Paris, France/CNED Toulouse/Emmanuel) and senior
Tyler Underwood (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) took the first win of the day for the Dolphins by defeating a team of Kostiantyn Kalchev and Drew Stewart 7-6 (7-5) in the first doubles spot. Senior
Andres Hernandez (Monterrey, Mexico/Laurel Springs/Texas Rio Grande Valley) and freshman
Gerardo Wibmer (Maldonado, Uruguay/Apostille School) were defeated 6-3 by the Firebirds' team of Maksim Bahdanovich and Jake Bedforth at the second position. At the third spot, senior
Xavier Graells (Castellar del Vallès, Spain/IES Castellar/Harford Community College) and sophomore
Christian Erickson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) won by default due to the Firebirds being unable to fill the position.
Le Moyne claimed all six of the singles matches starting with Jarry's 6-4, 7-6 (10-7) win over Kalchev. Hernandez defeated Bahdanovich 6-1, 6-1, while Erickson won 6-2, 6-2 over Stewart. Graells won 6-0, 6-0 over Bedforth and graduate student
Sven Gopfrich (Erlangen, Germany/Emmy-Noether-Gymnasium Erlangen/Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg) won the fifth singles match 6-0, 6-0 over the University of the District of Columbia's Wilson Cano. In the final singles match, Wibmer won by default.
Le Moyne (5-3) is back on the courts Saturday against Chestnut Hill at Chestnut Hill College Tennis Courts in Philadelphia, Pa. at 12:00 p.m.
