Syracuse, N.Y. - Senior attacker
Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) broke the program's career goals record as the top-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team cruised to a 23-2 win over Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday at Ted Grant Field.
Fazio registered five goals in the game, the second of which broke the program's career goals record with her 183rd goal. The previous record of 182 belonged to Brittany Brigandi '12.
As happened when Fazio broke the career points record two weeks ago, the Dolphins scored the first 14 goals of the game. She started the scoring just 51 seconds into the game off a pass from junior midfielder
Julia Sardella (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Siena) to tie the record. Just 39 seconds later, sophomore midfielder
Sydney Meagher (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) tallied her fourth goal of the season. Following almost three minutes of scoreless play, senior midfielder
Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) netted her 18th goal of the year off a feed from junior attacker
Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) with 25:44 remaining.
Fazio had a hand in the game's next four goals. Only 23 seconds after Sanna scored, Fazio broke Brigandi's record by finding the back of the net off a pass from Hall. Fazio made it 5-0 with her 27th goal of the campaign off a feed from sophomore attacker
Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill). The duo reversed roles with 21:48 left as McMullen picked up her 23rd goal of the year. Fazio capped her run with 20:10 left with her 185th after collecting another pass from Sardella.
Junior midfielder
Nicole Delany (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) netted her 20th goal of the season with 16:38 to go. Hall followed with her 18th tally with 15:13 remaining. Fazio got the Dolphins into double digits with her final goal of the game with 13:45 left.
McMullen scored the next two goals in a span of 1:48. Her 24th goal of the year came with 11:16 off a pass from Fazio, who passed Kylie Rosette '08 for fourth on the program's career assists list with her 80th. Meagher then fed McMullen with 9:28 remaining in the half.
Sardella picked up her 15th goal of the season with 7:21 left off a pass from sophomore attacker
Brittney Pollack (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport). She then found Delany for Le Moyne's 14th goal with 5:34 to go.
Kristin Wilder got the Penmen on the scoreboard with 56 seconds left by converting a free-position shot for her 28th goal of the year.
The Dolphins scored the first nine goals of the second half. Hall started the scoring in the stanza just 22 seconds in. Sardella followed with her second goal of the day with 24:06 off a free-position shot. McMullen finished off a pass from Hall with 22:20 to play. Freshman attacker
Molly Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) netted her second goal of the season with 20:55 left after sister Sidney collected the preceding draw control.
Following six minutes of scoreless play, junior attacker
Claire Herrmann (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) netted her second goal of the year with 14:39 left. Pollack followed with back-to-back tallies. Her fourth goal of the year was assisted by
Molly Hall with 12:42 left, while she scored off a pass from Herrmann with 11:19 to play.
Sophomore midfielder
Lauren Ferris (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) played a part in Le Moyne's final two goals. She scored her first of the year with 7:43 remaining and then flipped a transition pass to freshman midfielder
Taylor Reich (Marietta, N.Y./Marcellus) for her first goal with 2:47 left.
Alexis Felt completed the game's scoring with 1:04 remaining off a free-position shot.
Junior goalkeeper
Hannah George (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) registered four saves (against one goal) in the first half to earn her 50th career victory, which ties Samantha Falcone '08 for the most in the program's history. Hayle Ashford made seven saves (against 19 goals) over 45:21 in the loss.
Le Moyne (9-0, 5-0 NE10), which has won 15 straight home games (tied with the University of Indianapolis for the longest active streak in Division II), is back in action on Tuesday at Assumption College at 4:00 p.m.
