GEORGE BREAKS PROGRAM’S CAREER WINS RECORD AS TOP-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE TOPS 17TH-RANKED ASSUMPTION, 16-5

Worcester, Mass. – Junior attacker Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) recorded six points to lead the top-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 16-5 win over 17th-ranked Assumption College on Tuesday afternoon at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

With the victory, junior goalkeeper Hannah George (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) broke the program's career wins record with her 51st career win. The previous record of 50 belonged to Samantha Falcone '08.

The Dolphins scored the first two goals of the contest. Junior midfielder Nicole Delany (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) started the scoring at the 27:56 mark by finishing off a pass from Hall. Senior attacker Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) made it 2-0 by converting a free-position shot in a player-down situation with 23:41 remaining.

Assumption answered with the next two goals to deliver the only tie of the game. Sarah Reilly scored off a free-position shot with 21:51 left to cut her team's deficit in half. Just 24 seconds later, Helen Tautkus converted a free-position shot for her 13th tally of the season.

Le Moyne countered with six straight goals to take control of the game. Delany ignited the streak with her 23rd goal of the season with 17:19 to go. Only 25 seconds later, senior midfielder Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) tallied her 19th goal of the campaign off a feed from sophomore attacker Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill). Freshman attacker Jessica Meneilly (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) netted her first career goal with 14:45 remaining after collecting a pass from sophomore midfielder Lauren Ferris (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee). McMullen pushed the score to 6-2 with 11:42 remaining after taking a feed from Hall, who followed with a free-position goal with 10:24 left and an unassisted tally with 8:20 to go.

After Tautkus scored off a pass from Emily Spath in an extra-player situation with 7:06 left, the Dolphins scored the final three goals of the half. Meneilly picked up her second of the game with 5:55 remaining off a pass from Hall. Fazio registered her 31st goal of the campaign with 3:45 until intermission off Hall's fourth assist of the half. Junior midfielder Julia Sardella (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Siena) completed the half's scoring with a tally in transition with 1:18 left.

The Dolphins scored the first three goals of the second half to take their largest lead of the game. McMullen posted her 28th goal of the season in a player-down situation with 22:23 to play. Just 37 seconds later, Fazio tallied her third goal of the day after collecting a feed from Sardella. Delany picked up her third goal of the contest with 19:42 to play for a 14-3 lead.

The teams alternated the final four goals of the game. Kailyn Hart scored her 29th goal of the season with 15:00 remaining off a pass from Callie Dwyer. Sardella answered at the 12:58 mark by converting a free-position shot for her 18th goal of the season. Jill Good posted Assumption's final goal of the game with 7:10 left. Sanna completed the game's scoring with a free-position goal in an extra-player situation with 4:50 remaining.

George made six saves, including three in each half, to earn her 10th win of the season. Allie Collins turned away nine shots (against 15 goals) in 52:51 between the pipes.

Le Moyne (10-0, 6-0 NE10), which improves to 10-0 all-time against the Greyhounds, is back in action on Saturday at Saint Anselm College at 10:30 a.m.
