TOP-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE CLOSES OUT REGULAR SEASON UNDEFEATED WITH 13-3 WIN OVER SAINT MICHAEL’S ON “SENIOR DAY”

Syracuse, N.Y. – Sophomore attacker Brittney Pollack (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) sparked the offense in the second half with four assists as the top-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team registered a 13-3 victory over Saint Michael's College in the regular season finale for both teams on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

The Dolphins (17-0, 13-0 NE10) finish the regular season undefeated for the second time in three years and complete NE10 play unblemished for the third time (2012, 2017, 2019). The top-seeded Dolphins open play in the NE10 Championships on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. against eighth-seeded Stonehill College. The Dolphins defeated the Skyhawks during the regular season on March 16 at Ted Grant Field, 19-2.

Le Moyne opened the game's scoring just 35 seconds into the contest as senior attacker Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) finished off a pass from senior midfielder Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford), who played in her 81st career game, the most in the program's history. Just 29 seconds later, Sanna registered her 35th goal of the season after collecting a feed from junior attacker Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson).

The Purple Knights answered back just 13 seconds later as Alex Vincent scored her 34th goal of the year off a pass from Kaelyn Oliver.

The Dolphins regained their two-goal lead with 27:36 remaining in the first half as Fazio found the back of the net after taking a pass from sophomore midfielder Lauren Ferris (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee). The goal gave Fazio 300 points in her career.

Saint Michael's trimmed its deficit back to one with 23:18 left as Kate Martin tallied an unassisted goal.

Following 15 and one-half minutes of scoreless play, the Dolphins pushed their lead back to two as junior midfielder Nicole Delany (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) netted her 41st goal of the year.

After almost six minutes of scoreless action to start the second half, Saint Michael's got within 4-3 as Erin Mikson scored off a pass from Oliver.

The Dolphins answered with the final nine goals of the game. Just 38 seconds after Mikson scored, Pollack fed freshman attacker Jessica Meneilly (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) for her 10th goal of the year with 23:25 to play. Delany followed at the 20:39 mark with a rebound goal after having her initial shot saved. Following a yellow card on the Purple Knights, Meneilly finished off another pass from Pollack in the extra-player situation with 18:25 left. Fazio pushed Le Moyne's lead to five with 13:40 left after collecting a feed from Pollack.

Just 43 seconds later, Delany found the back of the net off a feed from Hall. Delany scored again with 8:37 remaining after taking a pass from Pollack. She netted her third straight goal with 7:10 left to make it 11-3.

Just over one minute later, sophomore attacker/midfielder Sydney Meagher (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) tallied her eighth goal of the season off a pass from Hall.

Fazio completed the game's scoring with 4:35 left by converting a free-position shot for her 80th point of the year.

Junior goalkeeper Hannah George (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) registered six saves, including three in each half, between the pipes to earn the victory. Victoria Putnam turned away 13 shots in the loss, including seven in the second half.
