MEN’S SOCCER DROPS NON-CONFERENCE MATCHUP AT POST, 3-0

Waterbury, Conn. – Post University had three different scorers en route to a 3-0 victory over the Le Moyne College men's soccer team in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

Post, which improves to 2-0-1 against the Dolphins and hasn't yielded a goal in the three games, while scoring eight goals, tallied the only goal it would need in the 30th minute. After taking a pass from the middle of the field from reigning CACC Player of the Year Sergio Diaz, Alvaro Sanchez turned and fired a shot into the upper left corner of the net from the top of the penalty box at the 29:03 mark for his fourth goal of the season.

The Dolphins recorded three shots over the last eight minutes of the half, but none were on target.

Following a foul on the Dolphins 30 yards out, Diaz's free kick hit off the left post. Antoine Trifnov got to the rebound first and knocked the ball into the middle of the net from six yards out at the 61:15 mark for his first goal of the season.

The Eagles finished off the game's scoring in the 71st minute. After collecting a loose ball 40 yards out on the right side, Diaz crossed the ball towards the top left corner of the penalty box. Phillimon Bedard-Khalid corralled the ball and carried it towards the middle of the field before blasting a shot inside the near left post at the 70:01 mark for his first goal of the season.

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Josh Mahr (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) recorded five saves in the setback. David Mollenthial did not need to make a save in registering his third straight shutout. Post tallied a 15-6 advantage in shots, including 8-1 in the second half, while Le Moyne posted a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

Le Moyne (5-2), which failed to put a shot on goal for the first time since September 12, 2015 (a span of 81 games), returns home to face Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
