WOMEN’S BASKETBALL KNOCKS OFF PACE, 55-47

Pleasantville, N.Y. – Senior forward Colleen Corcoran (Beverly, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) had a career-best game to lead the Le Moyne College women's basketball team to a 55-47 win over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday evening at the Goldstein Fitness Center.

Corcoran registered her first career double-double with career highs of 16 points, including 10 in the second half, and 12 rebounds, including eight in the second half, while adding three assists.
Senior guard McKayla Roberts (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) recorded a game-high 17 points, including 10 in the first half, and grabbed six rebounds. With a three-pointer midway through the second quarter, Roberts became the fifth player in the program's history to eclipse the 1500-point plateau. She also became the third player in the program's history to record 100 career starts.

Jackie DelliSanti led the Setters in the loss with 17 points, including 10 in the second half. Lauren Schetter recorded 10 of her 14 points in the first half.

After Schetter opened the game's scoring, Roberts answered seven seconds later to give the Dolphins the lead, which they would not relinquish. Corcoran followed with a three-pointer, redshirt junior Liz Millea (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown) made a jumper and then Roberts drained another three-pointer as the Dolphins opened up an 11-4 lead just over five minutes into the contest.

Pace got a jumper and two free throws from Schetter and two free throws from DelliSanti to get within 13-10 with 3:20 left, but the Dolphins countered with seven straight points to take their first double-digit lead of the game. Roberts and sophomore guard Erin Fouracre (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) made back-to-back lay-ups and then Corcoran recorded a conventional three-point play.

Roberts gave the Dolphins a 22-13 lead after one quarter of play with a lay-up in the final seconds of the stanza.

Following back-and-forth action over the first three and one-half minutes of the second quarter, Lauren Hackett hit a three-pointer and Schetter made a lay-up to get Pace within 27-24 with 5:32 remaining, but the Setters would go scoreless the remainder of the half.

The Dolphins scored the final six points of the half to take a 33-24 lead into the intermission. Fouracre, freshman guard Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) and junior forward Madison Shetrom (Altoona, N.Y./Altoona) each scored two points.

Le Moyne continued its run to start the third quarter with the first six points. Corcoran made a jumper and then Fouracre and Millea made lay-ups for a 15-point lead.

Pace answered back with 10 consecutive points to get within five with 4:07 to go. DelliSanti had six of the points, while Schetter and Kendra Cooper-Smith each made jump shots.

After a lay-up by Corcoran and a three-pointer by Kelsey Quain had the Setters within 41-37 with 1:30 left, Roberts and Baker made lay-ups in the final 59 seconds to give the Dolphins a 45-37 lead after 30 minutes of action.

Le Moyne's lead bounced between seven and 12 points in the fourth quarter as each team scored 10 points in the quarter.

Le Moyne (8-5, 4-2 NE10), which moves into a three-way tie for second place in the Southwest Division following the completion of the first round of the divisional schedule, starts crossover play on Saturday at Stonehill College at 1:30 p.m.
