Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Senior pitcher/third baseman Peyton Bellrose (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) struck out six batters to lead the Le Moyne College softball team to an 8-0 win in five innings over Kutztown University in the second game of the Snowbird Freeze Out Tournament on Friday afternoon. The Dolphins fell to Millersville, 4-3, in their first game of the day.

The Dolphins scored four times on two hits and two Kutztown errors in the bottom of the second inning. Senior Taylor Artley (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) doubled to left center with one out, moved to third on a groundout and scored as sophomore right fielder Victoria Catalano (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) reached on a fielding error by the third baseman. After junior shortstop Kaily LaForce (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton) singled and freshman center fielder Dominique Russo (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) walked to load the bases, senior catcher Ally Nicolosi (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) reached on a dropped fly ball by the left fielder, which allowed Catalano, LaForce and Russo to score.

Le Moyne walked off with four runs on four hits and two Kutztown errors in the bottom of the fifth inning. Senior second baseman Jillian McManus (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) and Bellrose opened the frame with singles and moved up a base on a fielding error by the right fielder on Bellrose's single. Redshirt senior left fielder Chelsie Delperuto (Syracuse, N.Y./Solvay/UMBC) followed with a single up the middle to knock in McManus and Bellrose. After a pitching change and an out, Delperuto scored as junior designated player Olivia Littman (Newfane, N.Y./Newfance) reached on a fielder's choice. Following a walk, a fielding error by the third baseman to load the bases and an out, Nicolosi singled to the pitcher to drive in Littman with the final run.

Bellrose yielded just two hits over four innings, while striking out the six batters, to earn her 23rd career victory. McManus and Artley each had two hits for the Dolphins. Amber Brugger took the loss after allowing seven runs (two earned) over four-plus innings.
 
Le Moyne (1-1) returns to action at the Snowbird Freeze Out Tournament on Saturday against Seton Hill University (10:00 a.m.) and Saint Anselm College (12:00 p.m.).
