MEN’S BASKETBALL HOLDS OFF SAINT ROSE FOR 78-75 WIN

Albany, N.Y. – Sophomore guard Nino Hernandez (Gardner, Mass./The Winchendon School/Bryant) scored 24 points to lead the Le Moyne College men's basketball team to a 78-75 win over The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday night at Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Hernandez recorded 15 of his game-high point total in the first half, while adding five rebounds and two steals. Senior guard Ryan Roland (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Mercyhurst) tallied 15 points, including nine in the second half, and grabbed a team-best eight rebounds. Sophomore forward BB Chuks-Mady (Hamilton, Ontario/GTA Prep) registered a career-high 13 points and pulled down five rebounds, including four offensive. Senior guard Zay Jennings (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic/Caldwell) netted 11 points and three steals, while redshirt senior guard Malik Garner (Midland, Mich./H.H. Dow/Sunrise Christian Academy/Saginaw Valley State) scored 10 second-half points.

Sekou Sylla led the Golden Knights in the loss with 20 points, including 11 in the first half, and a game-best 19 rebounds, including 12 in the second half. Cartier Bowman tallied 10 of his 18 points in the first half, while Adam Anderson scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half. Michael Wearne posted 11 points, including nine in the second half.
 
Le Moyne (16-6, 12-2 NE10) returns to action on Saturday against the University of New Haven at 3:00 p.m. The eight members of the senior class will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for their contributions to the program prior to the game.
