Easton, Mass. – Basia Peragine landed 10 kills to lead Stonehill College to a 3-0 win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team in Northeast-10 Conference action on Friday evening at Merkert Gymnasium.
Stonehill opened the match with the first seven points. After the teams split the next 13, the Skyhawks scored four in a row to take a double-digit lead. Le Moyne answered back with eight straight points behind the serve of redshirt freshman defensive specialist
Madison Dembroski (Plattekill, N.Y./Wallkill) to closed within 17-15 and force a Stonehill timeout. The Skyhawks scored four of the next five points to regain control. The teams then traded points the remainder of the set as Stonehill won, 25-21.
After the Dolphins scored back-to-back points to get within 8-7 in the second set, the Skyhawks scored seven of the next eight points to take a 15-8 lead. Stonehill later used a 4-0 spurt to go up 22-12. Le Moyne closed within 23-17 with a 5-1 burst, but the Skyhawks scored the final two points for a 25-17 victory.
Stonehill flew out of the gates in the third set with the first nine points. The Dolphins countered with a 6-3 run to get within six, but were unable to get any closer the remainder of the set as the Skyhawks closed out the match with a 25-15 win.

Emily LaRuffa (Rock Hill, N.Y./Monticello) led the Dolphins offensively with five kills. Graduate student setter
Emily Yancone (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) directed the offense with 12 assists to go with seven digs and three service aces. Redshirt freshman libero
Isabella Leslie (Elmhurst, Ill./IC Catholic Prep) led the team with 14 digs, while classmate
Maethavee Siphakongviseth (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) tallied 10.
Peragine hit at a .409 clip en route to her match-high kill total. Lauren Wilke registered a double-double of 29 assists and 14 digs to go with four block assists and three kills. Carly Russell led the Skyhawks on the defensive end with 17 digs.
Le Moyne (3-11, 1-5 NE10) is back in action on Saturday at Bentley University at 1:00 p.m.
