Madeleine Kennedy (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) registered 17 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Franklin Pierce University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Court.
"Great to get a good win on senior day!" said head coach Bethany Fabian. "The team came out strong, played together and we got the W!"
After the teams split the first four points of the opening set, the Dolphins scored six of the next eight points. Franklin Pierce answered with a 6-1 run to take its first lead of the match. Le Moyne rattled off the next 10 points and 14 of the next 16 to open up a 23-12 lead. The Ravens scored four points in a row, but the Dolphins closed the set out with two of the last three points for a 25-17 win.
Franklin Pierce opened the second set with the first three points and eight of the initial 11. After the teams traded points, resulting in a 12-6 Franklin Pierce lead, the Dolphins answered with an 8-1 streak to take the lead. The Ravens countered with a 5-1 run to take an 18-15 advantage. Le Moyne responded with six consecutive points to take a three-point lead of its own. The teams traded points the remainder of the set, resulting in a 25-23 win for the Dolphins.
The Dolphins opened the third set with four of the first five points before the Ravens answered with three in a row for a 4-4 tie. The teams went back and forth with nine ties over the next 18 points. The Ravens used a 3-0 spurt to go up 15-13 and then the teams traded points with Franklin Pierce leading by either one or two points over the next 16 points. After Franklin Pierce took a 24-21 lead to get within set point, but the Dolphins rallied with five consecutive points to win the set, 26-24, and close out the match.

Emily Yancone (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) dished out 31 assists, posted nine digs and had two service aces, both of which came in the 5-0 run to end the match. Redshirt freshman outside hitter
Maethavee Siphakongviseth (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) led the team defensively with 16 digs. Senior libero
Emily Mosack (Webster, N.Y./Webster-Schroeder) tallied 13 digs and recorded six assists. Redshirt freshman defensive specialists
Madison Dembroski (Plattekill, N.Y./Wallkill) and
Isabella Leslie (Elmhurst, Ill./IC Catholic Prep) tallied 13 and 10 digs, respectively, while Leslie also posted four aces.
Hannah Hillis led the Ravens in the setback with nine kills and a match-high 21 digs. Kennedy Garnhart and Maddie Ward split the setting duties with 13 and 11 assists, respectively. Morgan Schmutzler and Tessa Brandt turned in 14 and 12 digs, respectively.
Le Moyne (4-14, 2-8 NE10) returns to action on Friday at Saint Michael's College at 7:00 p.m.
