Philadelphia, Pa. – Redshirt freshman guard
Jack Poirier (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) scored 14 points off the bench to lead the Le Moyne College men's basketball team to a 70-44 victory over the University of the Sciences on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Bobby Morgan Arena.

Poirier tallied nine of his game-high point total in the second half on a trio of three-pointers. Classmate
Christian Davis (Denver, Colo./Mullen/New Hampton School) narrowly missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard
Nino Hernandez (Gardner, Mass./The Winchendon School/Bryant) was the third Dolphin in double digits with 11 points.
Austin Kennedy led the Devils in the setback with nine points.
The Dolphins jumped out to a 9-2 lead through the first three minutes of the contest. Redshirt freshman guard
Kevin Constant (Lawrence, Mass./Central Catholic/Tilton School) made a pair of shots in the paint around a three-pointer by Hernandez and then Davis converted a lay-up.
The Devils answered with six straight points and nine of the next 12 to get within 12-11, but that's as close as they would get the remainder of the game. Kennedy buried back-to-back three-pointers and then Sean Simon answered a three-point play by the Dolphins with a longball with 12:54 remaining.
Le Moyne took control of the game with 22 of the last 27 points of the half, including the final 10. Hernandez started the run with a jumper in the paint off a steal and then Poirier drilled his first three-pointer.
After a three-pointer by Simon, Constant made a jumper, Davis made a lay-up and then third-year sophomore guard
Jeremiah Washington (Chicago, Ill./Bogan/Ferris State) buried a three-pointer.
Following a lay-up by Simon with 4:28 left to get the Devils within 24-16, the Dolphins scored the last 10 points. Senior forward
Nicholas Johnson (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy/Frostburg St./Montgomery College) had a dunk, Poirier knocked down a jumper in transition, Davis connected on a three-pointer and then Constant finished off the half's scoring with a three-pointer for a 34-16 lead at the break.
After USciences opened the scoring in the second half with a free throw, Davis recorded a conventional three-point play to give the Dolphins their first 20-point lead of the game.
Following back-and-forth action, the Dolphins ran off 18 of the next 23 points to take a 58-26 lead with 8:35 to go. Poirier and junior forward
Xavier Wilson (Spring Valley, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac/The Hotchkiss School/Central Connecticut State) each had six points in the stretch, while Hernandez made a pair of lay-ups and freshman guard
Zy'Ever Wingfield (Richmond, Va./Henrico/Fork Union Military Academy) had a dunk off a steal.
After a 5-2 spurt by the Devils, Wingfield had another dunk and Hernandez made a fast-break jumper off a steal to give the Dolphins their largest lead of the game at 65-31 with 4:44 to play.
The Devils tallied the next nine points to trim their deficit to 25 with 2:51 remaining. Matthew McCaffrey made a pair of lay-ups and then Darius Brown had a three-pointer and a jumper.
The Dolphins scored the next five points before the Devils closed the game out with the last four.
Le Moyne (3-2) returns to Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday by hosting Adelphi University at 7:00 p.m.
