WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TO TAKE ON ADELPHI, WEDNESDAY AT 5 PM IN FIRST HALF OF BASKETBALL DOUBLE HEADER AT TED GRANT COURT

Syracuse - Le Moyne College will host a basketball double header on Wednesday, December 1 at Ted Grant Court as both programs will take on NE10 adversary Adelphi University Panthers. 

The two women's programs will play first with tip-off scheduled for 5 p.m. EST. The two men's programs will battle afterwards with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m..

The Le Moyne College women's basketball team currently holds a record of 3-1, and are coming off a 61-50 non-conference win at home over the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan. The Dolphins were led in that game by senior forwards Emma Brinker (16 points, career-high 19 rebounds) and Jenna Zimmerman (11 points, 13 rebounds). 

Prior to that the Dolphins suffered their first loss of the season, a 73-72 overtime defeat on the road at the College of Saint Rose. Brinker posted a career-high 30 points during the setback, while guards Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) and Erin Fouracre (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) each contributed 12 points. Fouracre also provided eight assists during the conference loss. 

On the season, Brinker is leading the team in points (21.0) and rebounds (13.8) while shooting 52% from the field and 82% from the free-throw line.

Redshirt-junior Saeeda Abdul-Aziz (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen/Davidson), through her first four games as a Dolphin, is averaging 13.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 37% from three-point land. 

Seniors Fouracre and Zimmerman, and junior Baker are each playing over 33 minutes per game so far this season, providing indispensable production on both ends of the floor. Through four games Fouracre holds averages of 9.5 points, 5.5 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.5 rebounds. Zimmerman is averaging 8.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per contest, and Baker is averaging 2.3 steals, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.8 points.

The Adelphi University Panthers are led by head coach Sade Jackson, who is in the midst of her first year leading her alma mater. 

The Panthers will travel to Syracuse with a 2-3 record, but are most recently coming off a big 58-55 road win at Georgian Court on November 28. Prior to that they suffered a 71-63 setback at Molloy on November 23, but the Panthers posted a 66-53 conference win at home against Saint Rose on November 20. 

Graduate guard Emily Miccile scored 19 points during her team's win against Georgian Court, and put up an impressive 10 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and three steals stat line during the double-digit victory over Saint Rose. Through five games Miccile holds averages of 10.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.0 steals. 

First year guard Kaitlyn O' Connell provided 16 points and five assists against Saint Rose, and on the season is averaging 10.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 29.8 minutes of action. 

Graduate center Rebecca Lee has been extremely productive during her limited time on the floor. In five starts she is averaging a respectable 7.4 points and 5.0 rebounds. Extremely active on the offensive glass, Lee has pulled down 13 offensive rebounds in 81 total minutes of action so far this season.

First year guard Sydney Rosenoff has started every game so far for the Panthers, averaging 31.8 minutes, 7.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.

Senior forward Emma Cuccurullo is playing a team-high 34.0 minutes per game. During those minutes she is averaging 5.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.4 blocks.

Adelphi won both meetings between the two teams during the 2019-20 season. On February11, 2020, Adelphi took down the Dolphins 67-62 on Ted Grant Court after winning the December match up earlier in the season in Garden City by a score of 77-63.

The two teams split their series during the 2018-19 season. Le Moyne won the first meeting of the season in mid-November at home by a score of 72-60. Two-and-a-half months later the Dolphins traveled to Garden City and suffered a loss by the same score as the previous meeting, 72-60.

They also split the series during the 2017-18 season, and same as the 2018-19 home-and-home the winning margin was the same in both meetings. On November 21, 2017 Le Moyne lost at Adelphi by a score of 60-52, and on January 31, 2018 Le Moyne earned a 68-60 victory over the Panthers at home.
