THIRD-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE GRINDS OUT 21-13 WIN OVER 17TH-RANKED PACE

Pleasantville, N.Y. – Junior attacker Jessica Meneilly (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) scored a career high-tying six goals to lead the third-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 21-13 victory over 17th-ranked Pace University on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Pace Stadium.

Le Moyne got the game's scoring just 35 seconds into the contest as senior midfielder Lauren Ferris (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) finished off a pass from senior midfielder Sydney Meagher (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport).

The Setters answered with the next three goals. Carlyn Mucci evened the score at one with 25:30 left off a pass from Aleya Corretjer. Just 55 seconds later, Angelina Porcello put Pace in front off a feed from Christen Lapple. Jolie Urraro made it 3-1 45 seconds later after taking a pass from Mucci.

The Dolphins countered with five goals in a row to take the lead back. In an extra-player situation, Meagher scored off a free-position shot with 19:35 remaining. Graduate student attacker Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) tied the score with an unassisted tally with 17:19 left and then fed Meneilly for her first goal 40 seconds later to put the Dolphins back in front. Junior midfielder Adrianna Nojaim (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) converted a free-position shot with 10:21 left in the half for a two-goal lead and Meagher capped the run with 6:35 remaining.

The teams traded goals over the final six minutes of the half. Pace snapped Le Moyne's run at the 5:45 mark on a goal by Kayla Conway. Senior attacker Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) countered just over two minutes later. Corretjer made in a two-goal deficit again with 2:39 to go. Meneilly finished off a pass from Ferris 27 seconds later and scored again another 55 seconds later off a dish from Hall to make it 9-5. Emma Rafferty ended the half's scoring with seven seconds left off a feed from Lapple.

Le Moyne blew the game open with the first six goals of the second half over 5:07. Hall ignited the run with a free-position goal 46 seconds into the stanza. McMullen followed 41 seconds later with her team-best 35th goal of the season off a pass from Ferris. Nojaim made it 12-6 only 21 seconds later and sophomore attacker Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) found the back of the net another 51 seconds later. Only 45 seconds later, Meneilly scored with 26:36 left on a rebound of a saved shot. Nojaim capped the opening outburst with an unassisted marker with 24:53 remaining in the half.

Pace scored twice in less than a minute to get back within seven. Mucci scored her team's first goal of the half on a free-position shot with 23:25 left and Conway followed 55 seconds later with an unassisted goal.

Meneilly pushed Le Moyne's lead back to nine with a pair of goals. The first came at the 21:25 mark off a pass from Nojaim in an extra-player situation. She then scored with 19:37 remaining after collecting a pass from Hall.
