Manchester, N.H. - The Le Moyne College women's tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 7-0 victory over Saint Anselm College on Sunday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Derryfield School in Manchester.

The Dolphins did not drop a set in the number two or three doubles matches. The team of Fiona Pepper (Challapampa, Peru/Colegio Anglo Americano Prescott) and Marta Nunez (Rye, N.Y./Antonio Lopez (Spain)) defeated Saint Anselm's Anastasia Kapothanasis and Katie Mahan 6-0 in the second doubles spot, while Brooke Fernandez (Shirley, N.Y./William Floyd) and Isabella Barona (Manta, Ecuador/Talentos De Manta) blanked the Hawks duo of Elle Doucette and Abigail Svor in the number three doubles match. Le Moyne's Birdem Oz (Istanbul, Turkey/Ted Ankara College Foundation HS) and Francesca Lilliegren (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Alemán Humboldt Guayaquil) fended off Emily Jacy and Julia Svor 7-5 in the number one doubles match.

Fernandez defeated Julia Casaletto in the number six singles match 6-0, 6-1. Lilliegren took down Doucette 6-4, 6-1 in the fifth singles spot. Head coach Jeff Lonczak '03 had this to say after the match

"It was a great weekend for the women. Birdem beat a former conference player of the year for the third time while Fiona didn't surrender a game in singles all weekend. We're looking forward to the challenge that SNHU will present tomorrow."

Le Moyne (4-0, 3-0 NE10) is back in action Monday, September 27 when they take on Southern New Hampshire University at Nottingham High School at 1:00 p.m.
