The Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team is ranked third in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Magazine preseason Top 20 rankings, as recently announced by the publication.

"After our disappointing end to the 2021 season, we are eager to get back on the field and compete," said third-year head coach Liz Beville. "We look forward to playing some of the top teams in the country as we battle for the #1 spot at the end of May. Let's go Phins!" .

The Dolphins, who went 13-1 in 2021, including a 12-0 mark in Northeast-10 Conference play, are one of five NE10 members recognized in the rankings (Bentley, Adelphi, Pace and Saint Anselm).

Lindenwood University, which went 17-1 en route to capturing its first national championship last year, opens 2022 ranked first by Nike/USA Lacrosse. The University of Indianapolis is second after going 14-2 last year with both losses coming to Lindenwood, including in the Midwest Region final. The Dolphins, who are 65-1 in the regular season over the last five seasons, landed third according to US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors. Queens University of Charlotte, which finished 2021 14-2 after falling to Lindenwood in the national championship game, is fourth. West Chester University rounds out the top five after going 13-1 last year with its only loss coming in the Atlantic Region final.

The Dolphins, who return 23 letterwinners from last year's squad, including nine of 12 starters, while adding a graduate transfer and seven freshmen, are slated to open the season in early March.
