ZIMMERMAN GRABS 500TH CAREER REBOUND AS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EARNS SIXTH STRAIGHT CONFERENCE WIN

Manchester. N.H. - With a defensive rebound during the second quarter of the Dolphins' road win at Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon, Jenna Zimmerman (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) became the 21st player in the history of the Le Moyne women's basketball program to grab 500 career boards.

The senior forward played all 40 minutes, and finished the massive 67-63 NE10 road victory with six points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and five blocks. That is the fifth time in her career that Zimmerman has had at least five blocks in a single game. Zimmerman blocked a career-high seven shots during a loss to Adelphi in 2020.

Le Moyne senior forward Emma Brinker (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) was extremely efficient during the win, scoring 16 points on 7-10 shooting from the field to go along with a team-high nine rebounds during 32 minutes of action.

Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line, and finished with a stat line of 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 37 minutes of action.

Redshirt junior guard Saeeda Abdul-Aziz (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen/Davidson) shot 50% from the field during the win and contributed eight points and four rebounds.

Senior guard Erin Fouracre (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) shot 8-12 from the free-throw line, and finished the NE10 battle with a team-high 19 points, along with three rebounds and four assists.

Saint Anselm sophomore guard Gabby Turco finished the contest with an impressive stat line of 17 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and two steals during 37 minutes of action.

Following two made free-throws from Fouracre with 2:29 left in the fourth quarter, the Dolphins held a 63-51 advantage.

The Hawks then went on a 7-0 run to climb back into the game. A three-point field goal by Alexa Quirolo with 1:07 left cut Saint Anselm's deficit to 63-58.

Fouracre stopped the run with two made free-throws to put Le Moyne up 65-58.

The Hawks then converted a layup and drained a three-pointer with 13 seconds remaining to cut the lead to 65-63.

The Dolphins inbounded the ball to Fouracre, who drew a foul and drilled two more free-throws to put the game away at 67-63.

Following the loss, Saint Anselm dropped to 9-7 overall, including a 5-4 conference resume.

The Dolphins improved to 8-1 against NE10 competition and 10-2 overall.

Next up, the Le Moyne College women's basketball team will travel to Rindge, New Hampshire to take on NE10 opponent Franklin Pierce University on Thursday, January 27 at 5:30 p.m. EST.
