Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College volleyball team took on Assumption University today at Ted Grant Court and rallied for a 3-2 win.
The Greyhounds started off the match winning the first set, 25-21, and the second set, 25-21. The Dolphins came back with a fire in them and won the third set, 25-18, and the fourth set, 25-14. Le Moyne finished the match winning the fifth set, 15-9.
Leading the attack for the Dolphins was senior outside hitter
Madeleine Kennedy (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea), who registered 15 kills, and was followed by redshirt sophomore outside hitter
Madison Dembroski (Plattekill, N.Y./Wallkill), who had 13 kills and 10 digs and freshman middle blocker
Kayla Anstett (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) registering nine kills and four blocks. Redshirt sophomore middle blocker
Marie Rhodes (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary's) recorded five blocks and sophomore outside hitter
Rose Talty (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) had four blocks and 11 digs. Guiding the offense, freshman setter
Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) registered 24 assists and 11 digs, following closely was senior setter
Margaret King (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) with 19 assists. Redshirt sophomore defensive specialist
Isabella Leslie (Elmhurst, Ill./IC Catholic Prep) led the defense with 14 digs and had seven assists.
For the Greyhounds, Carly Goodhue registered 15 kills, Madison Lupino recorded 11 kills, and Alexis Distasio had nine kills to go with 19 digs. Kyra Belden and Lauryn Coelho each registered two blocks. Belden also had 15 assists, Marissa Krawczyk registered 13 assists and Tatiana Calderin recorded eight assists. Brandi Montoya had 19 digs and Barbara Illig registered 14 digs
The Le Moyne Dolphins (7-12, 3-5) will play their next match against Pace University in Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness & Recreation Center in Pleasantville, N.Y. on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:00 PM.
