WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WILL PLAY LAST HOME GAME OF REGULAR SEASON ON WEDNESDAY AT 5:00 PM VS AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team will play their last home game of the 2021-22 regular season on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. against the Yellow Jackets of American International College. The Dolphins fell to 10-1 on Ted Grant Court this season following their loss to Southern New Hampshire on Monday afternoon.

Le Moyne is currently tied with Pace at the top of the Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division standings with a 13-4 conference resume.

The Dolphins are 3-1 in their last four games with wins over New Haven, Adelphi and Southern Connecticut State. During that four-game stretch, seniors Erin Fouracre (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) and Jenna Zimmerman (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) as well as juniors Saeeda Abdul-Aziz (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen/Davidson) and Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) have increased their production.

During the Dolphins last four games, Fouracre is averaging 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game. On the season Fouracre is averaging 12.7 points and 4.5 rebounds.

During the same stretch Zimmerman is averaging 11.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, 2.0 assists, and 0.8 steals per game compared to her season averages of 7.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.4 blocks.

Abdul-Aziz currently holds season averages of 11.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, and during the last four games she has provided 15.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game to the Le Moyne cause. Baker only played seven minutes during Le Moyne's 69-53 victory at New Haven on February 5, but during the last four games that she has played her usual number of minutes, the junior guard is averaging 11.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game, a slight increase to her season averages of 9.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.1 steals per contest.

Le Moyne defeated AIC in Springfield on January 1 by a score of 71-61. The Yellow Jackets are 9-12 overall and 6-8 against NE10 competition, but they are 6-6 on the road this season. American International has earned conference road victories at Adelphi, Assumption, New Haven and Southern Connecticut State. Their two other conference wins came at home against Adelphi and Saint Michael's.

The Yellow Jackets have lost their last three games to Franklin Pierce, New Haven and Stonehill, and their last victory came on February 5 at Southern Connecticut State.

Graduate guard Destine Perry contributed 18 points during her team's win at SCSU, and on the season she is averaging 14.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.7 steals per contest.

Junior guard Kyla Smith is contributing 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.9 steals per game, while sophomore guard is providing 7.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.1assists and 1.5 steals per game for the Yellow Jackets.

Le Moyne won both meetings between the two programs in 2020 by a combined 61 points. Baker, Fouracre and Zimmerman each scored in double figures during Le Moyne's 79-47 victory over AIC on January 4, 2020, and Zimmerman tallied 18 points and 9 rebounds during Le Moyne's 73-44 win at AIC in February 2020.

The Yellow Jackets took down the Dolphins on Ted Grant Court by a score of 72-42 in February of 2019.
