WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD PLACES SIXTH, MEN EIGHTH, AT BROCKPORT MULTI & INVITATIONAL

Brockport, N.Y. – Junior Nicholas Hafner (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) won the heptathlon to lead the Le Moyne College men's indoor track and field team to an eighth-place finish at the Brockport Multi & Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Special Events Recreation Center. Senior Samantha Pellegrini (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie) recorded a second-place finish to lead the women's team to a sixth-place finish.

Brockport won the men's team competition with 153.50 points. RIT finished second with 104 points and St. John Fisher was third with 62 points. The Dolphin recorded 41 points to place eighth.

Brockport also won the women's team competition with 153 points. Geneseo tallied 128 points to place second and Daemen was third with 103 points. The Dolphins tallied 38 points for sixth.

Hafner collected a program-record 4071 points to win the heptathlon by almost 500 points. He broke his own program record of 4022 points, which he set at Brockport two years ago. After winning three of the four events on Friday, he had first, second and fourth place finishes on Saturday to increase his lead. He won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.17 seconds for 709 points, placed fourth in the pole vault with a height of 2.71 meters for 289 points and finished second in the 1000-meter run in 3:01.54 for 649 points.

Senior William Bilow (Chasm Falls, N.Y./Franklin) tied for second place in the high jump by clearing the bar at 5-feet, 11.25-inches.

Junior Nolan Hillhouse (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon) registered a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 41-feet, 0.5-inches. He also placed eighth in the long jump with a distance of 20-feet, 4.5-inches.

Junior Max Serling (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) turned in a fifth-place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:13.93.

Freshman Dominic Abbott (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) finished sixth in the 400-meter dash in 52.42 seconds.

Junior Matthew Sinnenberg (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) placed seventh in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:25.84.

The team of junior Christian Carlin-Saracene (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse), Abbott, freshman Brandon Scott (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) and senior Kenny Barrett (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Lady of Lourdes) won the 4x400-meter relay in 3:30.77.

Pellegrini placed second in the 5000-meter run in 19:20.92.

Redshirt freshman Madison Kozyra (Marcy, N.Y./Whitesboro) recorded a distance of 38-feet, 9.75-inches to place third in the shot put. She finished seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 42-feet, 8-inches.

Redshirt freshman Sophia Bisognano (Albany, N.Y./Colonie) placed fourth in the 5000-meter run in 20:36.99.

Junior Cleo Baker (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) recorded a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.83.

Redshirt junior Mallory DiFelice (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) finished sixth in the 60-meter dash in 8.12 seconds.

Junior Julianna Szczech (Camillus, N.Y./Marcellus) placed sixth in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 9-feet, 6.25-inches.

The quartet of junior Shaina Smith (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), freshman Natalie Lavello (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Arlington), DiFelice and Baker placed second in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:15.97.

The Dolphins are back in action on Friday at the RIT Friday Meet #2.
