SECOND-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE RECORDS 13-11 WIN AT 17TH-RANKED ROBERTS WESLEYAN

Rochester, N.Y. – Graduate student midfielder Sydney Meagher (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) scored a career-high four goals to lead the second-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 13-11 victory over 17th-ranked Roberts Wesleyan College on Wednesday afternoon at Redhawks Field.

The Dolphins opened the game's scoring with a pair of goals in the initial five minutes. Just 49 seconds into the game, junior attacker Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) tallied her second goal of the season. Meagher netted her first goal of the day with 10:48 left off a pass from Addonizio.

The teams then traded goals the remainder of the quarter. Lindsey Brinkel got the Redhawks on the scoreboard with 6:54 left, but Meagher answered back 44 seconds later with a free-position goal. Ellen O'Neil picked up her ninth goal of the campaign with 2:59 remaining off a dish from Brinkel. The Dolphins responded 52 seconds later as redshirt junior midfielder Katelyn Karleski (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) finished off a free-position shot. Brinkel completed the scoring in the quarter with 42 seconds left with her 16th goal of the season after taking a pass from Madison Bell.

Graduate student attacker Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) started the scoring in the second quarter at the 10:21 mark by finishing off a feed in transition from senior defender Taylor Reich (Marietta, N.Y./Marcellus). With the goal, McMullen took over sole possession of fifth place on the program's career points chart with her 236th and she moved into a tie for fifth with Gold Wave Hall of Fame member Amanda Daniels '03 on the career goals scored chart with her 164th.

Brinkel countered with a free-position goal with 8:18 to get the Redhawks back within one.
