Peterborough, N.H. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team ran its win streak to 10 with a 7-0 victory over Franklin Pierce University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Sunday evening at the Monadnock Indoor Tennis Club.
"Today was a great team victory for the men," said head coach
Jeff Lonczak '03. "With last year's conference player of the year unable to compete due to an injury, everyone triumphed at a higher position. It was a testament to the way these guys prepare day in and day out for each match. We're looking forward to an intense three matches next weekend and an opportunity to be home."
The Dolphins, who defeated the Ravens to win the NE10 Championship in May, opened the match by claiming the point in the doubles competition for the ninth straight match. At the top position, fifth year

Ethan Miller (Swindon, England/Cirencetser Kingshill School) registered a 6-3 win over Kevin Denecheau and Ivan Bernal. Graduate student

Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) also tallied a 6-3 win at the second spot over Nkrumah Patrick and Alejandro Ortiz. Fifth year

Felipe Cruz (San Jose, Costa Rica/Blue Valley School/Saint Louis) were leading 5-4 at the third spot when the doubles point was clinched.
Le Moyne swept the singles competition for the fifth time in the last six matches. At the first spot, Jarry earned his 12th win of the year by defeating Felipe Carvalho with back-to-back scores of 6-1. Righi moved to 7-0 on the year by rallying to beat Denecheau at the second position, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Hatton improved to 9-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Bernal at the third spot. Junior
Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) tallied his 12th victory of the year by rallying for a 3-6, 6-0, 10-5 win over Patrick at the fourth position. Miller was victorious at the fifth spot, 6-2, 6-1, over Preston Gordon. Cruz completed the sweep with an 8-5 win over Ortiz at the sixth position.
Le Moyne (10-1, 3-0 NE10) returns to action on Friday hosting Queens College at 3:30 p.m. at the Nottingham High School courts.
