MEN’S TENNIS RECORDS 4-3 WIN OVER HOBART

Geneva, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team won the doubles point for the seventh straight match en route to a 4-3 victory over Hobart College on Saturday morning at the Bristol Field House.
 
The Dolphins swept the doubles competition to take a 1-0 lead in the match. At the first spot, fifth year Tom Jarry (Paris, France/CNED Toulouse/Emmanuel) and junior Ethan Miller (Swindon, England/Cirencetser Kingshill School) registered a 6-2 win over Jett Wright and Troy Steiner. Graduate student Manuel Righi (Bologna, Italy/IPC Manfredi - ITC Tanari/Concordia (N.Y.)/Universita di Bologna) and freshman Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) were 6-1 winners over Jacob Linares and Sean Pesin at the second position.  Fifth year Jared Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) and junior Felipe Cruz (San Jose, Costa Rica/Blue Valley School/Saint Louis) completed the sweep by defeating Harry Lyu and Thomas Shung at the third spot, 6-4.
 
Le Moyne clinched the match by splitting the singles competition. Righi improved to 6-0 as a Dolphin by defeating Lyu at the second position, 6-0, 6-2. Hatton defeated Shung at the fourth spot, 6-1, 6-3, to improve to 7-0 as a Dolphin. Junior Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) tallied his 10th victory of the year with back-to-back scores of 6-4 against Steiner at the fifth position. Winter Fagerberg rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 10-5 win over Jarry at the first spot. Pesin recorded a 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-5 win at the third position over Howard. Hyat Oyer was a 6-1, 4-6, 10-1 winner at the sixth spot over Miller.
 
Le Moyne (8-1) returns to Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday, March 26 at Assumption University at 1:00 p.m.
