Michael Smith (Montebello, N.Y./Suffern) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for his play during the baseball team's 5-0 week.
In Monday's doubleheader against New Haven, Friday's doubleheader against American International, and Saturday's single seven-inning contest against the Yellow Jackets, Smith went a combined 10-16 with three home runs, three doubles, 10 runs batted in, five runs scored and four walks drawn.
During game one of the conference doubleheader against New Haven on Monday, Smith hit a go-ahead three-run homerun to put Le Moyne on top 5-3. In the second half of the doubleheader, which resulted in a 12-2 Le Moyne win, Smith went 4-5 with a two-run homerun.
Smith went a combined 2-5 with a double, two walks drawn, two RBI and a run scored during Le Moyne's two wins over AIC on Friday.
In Saturday's conference battle against AIC, Smith smashed a three-run home run in the bottom of the 3
rd inning to break the tie and give Le Moyne a 6-3 advantage. The Dolphins would go on to win the game 16-5, and Smith finished the contest 2-3 at the plate with two walks, a double, and three RBI
Smith is hitting .515 in 10 conference games so far this season. Le Moyne is 8-2 in NE10 play and currently sits atop the Southwest Division standings.
