Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team registered its 13th consecutive victory, 6-3, over Skidmore College on Sunday afternoon at the Saratoga YMCA.
The Dolphins claimed two of the three matches in the doubles competition. At the second position, graduate student
Manuel Righi (Bologna, Italy/IPC Manfredi - ITC Tanari/Concordia (N.Y.)/Universita di Bologna) and freshman
Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) won their 10th straight match, 8-2, over Zach Portnoy and Brendan Jimenez. Fifth years
Jared Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) and
James Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) tallied an 8-4 win at the third spot over Tristan Thiebaut and Connor Biernat. John Rado and Sergiu Celebidachi handed fifth year
Tom Jarry (Paris, France/CNED Toulouse/Emmanuel) and junior
Ethan Miller (Swindon, England/Cirencetser Kingshill School) their first dual match loss of the year, 8-6, at the first position.
Le Moyne claimed four of the sixth matches in the singles competition. Jarry won by default over Portnoy at the first position after winning the first set, 6-3. Righi claimed his 10th consecutive victory, 6-2, 6-4, at the second spot over Rado.
Jared Howard won at the fourth position over Jimenez with back-to-back scores of 6-2. Junior
Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) picked up his 10th straight victory, 6-2, 6-3, against Thiebaut at the fifth spot. Hatton suffered his first loss as a Dolphin to Celebidachi, 3-6, 6-3, 10-6, at the third position. Biernat was an 8-6 winner at the sixth spot over Miller.
Le Moyne (13-1) returns to action on Tuesday against Stonehill College at 3:30 p.m. Prior to the match, Jared and James Howard will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for their contributions to the program.
