10TH-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE CRUISES TO 19-9 WIN AT AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL

Springfield, Mass. – Graduate student attacker Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) and senior attacker Jessica Meneilly (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) each scored four goals to lead the 10th-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 19-9 victory at American International College on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Abdow Field.

"I'm proud of the team effort in today's game," said head coach Liz Beville. "It has been great to see our young players getting some runs and helping us secure a win."

The Dolphins opened the game with five goals over the first 3:36. Meneilly started the scoring 39 seconds into the game after taking a pass from graduate student midfielder Sydney Meagher (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport). Meneilly scored again 50 seconds later from the front of the crease off a dish from behind the net from junior attacker Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius). After causing a turnover on the other end, senior midfielder Adrianna Nojaim (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) found the back of the net with 12:24 left after collecting a feed from Meneilly. McMullen pushed the lead to four with 11:39 remaining after taking a pass from Addonizio. Only 15 seconds later, Meneilly recorded her third goal of the contest.

Kathryn Moody got the Yellow Jackets on the scoreboard with 10:24 left in the first quarter on a free-position shot.

Following almost five and one-half minutes of scoreless play, Nojaim extended Le Moyne's lead back to five by converting a free-position shot with 5:00 to go. McMullen netted her second goal of the game 73 seconds later after scooping up a loose ball after a previous shot hit the post. Meneilly capped the scoring in the quarter at the 2:45 mark after receiving a pass from freshman attacker Grace Detor (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee).

Le Moyne got into double digits with the first two goals of the second quarter. Sophomore attacker Sarah Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored the first at the 12:35 mark and then redshirt junior midfielder Katelyn Karleski (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) converted a free-position shot with 8:19 remaining.

Sam Giordano answered back 54 seconds later off a pass from Liz Day.

Le Moyne tallied the final three goals of the quarter to take a 13-2 lead into the intermission. McMullen converted a free-position shot with 6:43 to go in the half for her third goal of the game. Just over two minutes later, junior attacker Kelly Thomas (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) scored off a free-position shot to give the Dolphins a 10-goal advantage. Karleski ended the half's scoring with 2:16 remaining with an unassisted goal.
