Garden City, N.Y. – Fourth-ranked Adelphi University held the third-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to just to two goals en route to a 9-2 victory over the Dolphins in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship game on Saturday afternoon at Motamed Field.
The two goals are the fewest scored by the Dolphins since a 5-1 loss at Geneseo State late in the 1990 season. The Dolphins, who appeared in their NE10-record 20th conference championship match, now await their seeding for the NCAA Championships on Sunday on NCAA.com at 7:30 p.m.
As they did in the regular season finale, the Panthers scored the first four goals of the game, which this time took into the second quarter. NE10 Player of the Year Joseph Duchnowski started the scoring at the 11:07 mark with his 38th goal of the year. Just over one minute later, Brian Harinski netted his 13th goal of the campaign. With just 15 seconds left in the first quarter, Michael Paccione tallied his 11th goal of the season off a dish from James Hall, who earned Championship Most Outstanding Player honors after the game.
Harinski capped the outburst 3:46 into the second quarter off a feed from Joseph Diggle.

Devin Andrews (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy/Stony Brook) tallied his 25th goal of the year. Just 44 seconds later, the Dolphins closed within two as redshirt senior midfielder
Zach Pierce (Gansevoort, N.Y./Schuylerville/Onondaga C.C.) finished off a pass from Andrews within 3:05 to go in the quarter.
Adelphi pushed its lead back to four with the only two goals of the third quarter. Hall scored at the 12:17 mark off a dish from Diggle and then fed Kyle Steinbach at the 8:50 mark for his 31st goal of the year.
The Panthers closed out the game with three goals in the fourth quarter. Hall continued his run of being a part of Adelphi scoring with his 12th goal of the season with 14:08 until halftime. Steinbach scored again 43 seconds later for an 8-2 advantage. Michael Caiazzo scored into an empty net with 2:06 left to finish the scoring.

Frank Delia (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Onondaga C.C.) made three saves in the loss for the Dolphins. Dylan Renner turned away seven shots in the victory.
