Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team claimed their fifth straight win – and their second straight conference victory – on Wednesday evening by defeating the visiting Saint Michael's College Purple Knights by a score of 75-51 on Ted Grant Court.
First-year guard
Sierra Linnin (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) scored a season-high and game-high 15 points on 55% shooting from the field with three three-point field goals.
Senior guard
Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney), who currently has the highest per-game rebounding average in the Northeast-10 Conference, delivered her NE10-best ninth double-double of the 2022-23 campaign with a stat line of 13 points, a game-high 14 rebounds, three assists, a game-high four steals, and one block in 31 minutes of action.
First-year guard
Kaia Goode (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) was the third Le Moyne player to score in double digits with 13 points to go along with three assists and a steal.
Redshirt-freshman guard and reigning NE10 Rookie of the Week
Sydney Lusher (Oneida, N.Y./Oneida) contributed eight points, a game-high five assists, a game-high two blocks and two steals in 32 minutes played.
Redshirt-sophomore forward
Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent) pulled down nine rebounds for the 'Phins, while sophomore guard
Emily Florvil (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth) tallied seven points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block in 16 minutes played off the bench.
Le Moyne shot a combined 52% from the field during the second and third quarters, including 46% from three-point land to establish a 61-41 lead after 30 minutes of play.
Le Moyne scored 23 points off turnovers, compared to 11 for the Purple Knights.
Makayla Blake, Paige Slaven and Emma McDonough each scored in double figures for Saint Michael's. Blake and Slaven each contributed 10 points to go along with a combined nine rebounds, while McDonough provided a team-high 11 points during the loss.
The Le Moyne College women's basketball team improved to 10-4 overall and 5-3 in the NE10 following the win, while the Purple Knights dropped to 1-10 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
The Dolphins will be back in action on January 7 when they host Pace University for an NE10 battle on Ted Grant Court at 1:00 p.m.
