"It feels great to get our first win in such a big match," said Le Moyne head coach
Callum Donnelly '17, M '21, who recorded his first win as a head coach. "We've taken confidence from our performances up until now, and today it was about getting the three points. I am happy with the way we responded after giving up the equalizer. We kept pushing on and the group was hungry to score more goals to win the match. We have to be better at managing the game as we gave up a late soft goal. We have to keep building on the momentum we've created. It's a good start to conference play, but it's only a start. I'm happy for the boys. It's a good feeling to go away with three points on the road," Donnelly added.
Le Moyne outshot the Blue Devils by a tally of 10-7, marking the fourth consecutive game that Le Moyne has taken at least 10 shots and scored at least twice, and the Dolphins put seven of their shots on target. Both sides took five corner kicks during the match.
The Dolphins, who recorded a 2-2 draw against Stonehill in their NEC opener, now have four points in the conference standings, which has them tied at the top of the table with Saint Francis, FDU, LIU and Sacred Heart.
The 'Phins will play another conference road match at FDU on Thursday before playing their final non-conference match on October 10 at Stony Brook.
