Boston, Mass. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team will return to the state of Massachusetts on Wednesday for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference matchup against Boston University at BU's Case Gym.

The Dolphins are coming off a 63-61 overtime win at UMass Lowell on Saturday. Fifth-year senior guard Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) scored the game-winning shot against the River Hawks with two seconds remaining in overtime following a drive and dish from sophomore guard Kaia Goode (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney).

Baker finished the game with 12 points, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks. The 2022-23 DII All-American has scored in double figures in each of Le Moyne's first five games this season.

Baker was named NEC Player of the Week for the first week of the season, then she was named an NEC Prime Performer for week two due to her performance against UMass Lowell, along with her 14-point, seven-rebound outing at #8 University of Southern California on November 13.

Baker is currently third among Northeast Conference players in scoring with 14.4 points per game. The Dolphins have played two teams this season currently ranked in the top eight of the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

Goode tallied seven points, three steals, three rebounds and tied her career-high with seven assists during the Dolphins first victory of the program's Division I era on Saturday, while graduate guard Sydney Lusher (Oneida, N.Y./Oneida) provided a game-high and season-high 16 points on 7-9 shooting from the field, including 2-2 from three-point range.

During the fourth quarter against UML, during which the Dolphins outscored the River Hawks by a tally of 21-13 to send the contest to overtime, Lusher made all four of her field goal attempts to tally 10 points in the final 10 minutes of regulation.

Junior forward Brianna Williams (Brampton, Ontario/Southwest Academy/Hartford) tied her season-high of seven rebounds on Saturday, while redshirt-junior forward Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent) registered season-bests in points and rebounds with 12 points on 4-7 shooting from the field and 4-5 from the line along with six boards and a block.

The Dolphins recorded season-highs in field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, points, assists, steals and forced turnovers against the River Hawks.

The Dolphins shot 8-13 from the field, including 2-3 from long range during their 21-point fourth quarter.

The Boston University Terriers (3-1) are led by third-year head coach Melissa Graves. BU opened the season with a 60-58 win over UMass Lowell at home, then they bested New Hampshire and Yale at home before falling to Rider by a score of 58-55 in their first road contest of the season on Saturday.

6'4" center Caitlin Weimar is currently averaging a double-double of 17.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks for BU, while junior guard Alex Giannaros is averaging 13.0 points, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.8 rebounds in a team-high 35.0 minutes per game.

Weimar posted a season-high 33 points with 12 rebounds during the season opener against UMass Lowell, then she pulled down 14 boards against New Hampshire, and tallied 22 points and 12 boards against Yale.

BU freshman guard Aoibhe Gormley is contributing 4.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, a team-best 3.5 assists and a team-high 2.0 steals in 32.8 minutes through her first four collegiate contests.

During the 2022-23 season, the Terriers put together a 24-9 record, including a 17-1 resume in the Patriot League to win the program's first PL regular season championship. BU won its first 17 conference games last season before falling to Holy Cross in its regular season finale. The Terriers then lost to Holy Cross in the Patriot League title game.

Boston earned a spot in the National Invitation Tournament where they lost to Rhode Island in the first round.

Weimar was named 2022-23 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the All-Patriot League First Team, while Graves earned Coach of the Year honors. Giannaros earned a spot on the All-Patriot League Third Team last season.

Wednesday will be the first-ever meeting between Le Moyne College and Boston University in women's basketball.
