DeWitt, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team opened its Spring season with a 5-2 victory over Edinboro University on Friday evening at Elevate Fitness.

Manuel Righi (Bologna, Italy/IPC Manfredi - ITC Tanari/Concordia (N.Y.)/Universita di Bologna) recorded their 20th consecutive victory as a team with a 7-6 (7-3) win at the second spot over Manav Sreekumar and Thibault Dorval. Ruben Acuna and Kaio Sacchi prevented the sweep with a 6-2 win at the third position over graduate student
Fabian Sjokvist (Helsingborg, Sweden/Campeon Frigymnasium/Lincoln Memorial) and sophomore
Xavier Branagan (Wollstonecraft, Australia/St. Aloysius' College).
Le Moyne won four of the six matches in the singles competition to secure the victory. Jarry was victorious at the first position, 6-2, 6-1, over Sabio for his 46th career win, the second-most in the program's history. Hatton defeated Acuna, 7-5, 6-0, at the second spot in his first dual match of the year. Senior
Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) clinched the match for the Dolphins with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at the fourth position over Dorval. Righi collected the win at the fifth spot after Gustavo Martins retired following a 6-0 win in the first set by Righi. Finn Unger earned Edinboro's first point after Miller retired trailing 2-1 in the first set at the sixth position. Sreekumar rallied at the third spot for a 6-7 (6-8), 6-1, 6-0 win over senior

Le Moyne (2-0), which has won 21 straight regular season matches dating back to last season, is back in action on Saturday against Colgate University at Drumlins Country Club at 1:30 p.m.
