2/23/2023 5:19:00 PM

Syracuse, N.Y. – The no. 6 seed Le Moyne College men's basketball team (14-14, 11-9 NE10) will host the no. 11 seed Saint Michael's College Purple Knights (11-17, 5-15 NE10) on Friday night in the first round of the NE10 Conference Championships.

The game will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. inside the Le Moyne Events Center at Ted Grant Court.

The Dolphins and the Purple Knights split their two regular season games in 2023. Le Moyne came away with an 83-72 win over Saint Michael's at home on January 4, then the Purple Knights got revenge on their home floor with a 71-64 triumph over the Dolphins in Colchester on February 15.

During Le Moyne's win on January 4 over Saint Michael's, junior forward Luke Sutherland (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Siena/Bryant) scored a game-high 18 points, while senior forward Xavier Wilson (Spring Valley, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac/The Hotchkiss School/Central Connecticut State) tallied 16 points and seven rebounds and redshirt-sophomore guard Kevin Constant (Lawrence, Mass./Central Catholic/Tilton School) added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Junior guard Romar Reid and sophomore guard Nahshon Battle both recorded 18 points off the bench during Saint Michael's February 15 win over the Dolphins.

Sutherland and graduate guard Isaiah Salter (Charlotte, N.C./Central Cabarrus/American International/Adelphi) led Le Moyne in scoring during the regular season with 11.7 and 11.8 points per game, respectively.

Isaiah Salter is 10th among NE10 players with 2.3 threes per game.

Wilson had a great closing stretch to the regular season for Le Moyne, scoring in double figures during seven of their last eight contests. He is also averaging 1.4 blocks during that span.

On the year, Wilson is fourth among NE10 players with 1.2 blocks per game.

Le Moyne guards Zy'Ever Wingfield (Richmond, Va./Henrico/Fork Union Military Academy) and Kevin Constant (Lawrence, Mass./Central Catholic/Tilton School) both shot above 50% from the field on over 100 attempts during the regular season.

Reid, junior forward Joël Kabimba and sophomore guard CJ Crews are each averaging around 10.0 points per game for the Purple Knights.

Sophomore forward Jacob Duniver leads Saint Michael's in rebounding average (6.2) and made threes per game (1.9).

The Purple Knights have shot the second most free throws among NE10 teams, and have the highest team free-throw percentage in the league at 77.3%.

Le Moyne's defense is first in the NE10 in forced turnovers with 15.5 per game.

Prior to this season, Le Moyne had claimed six consecutive wins over Saint Michael's dating back to the 2015-16 campaign.

The last time Le Moyne and Saint Michael's met in the Northeast-10 Men's Basketball Championships was during the 2010-11 season, when Saint Michael's claimed a 66-60 win over the Dolphins to advance in the conference tournament.

The winner of Friday's matchup will take on Bentley in the quarterfinals.
