Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team (18-5, 13-4 NE10) bested #18 Assumption University (19-4, 12-4 NE10) in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night to earn their eighth consecutive conference victory and move into first place in the NE10 Standings.

During Le Moyne's final possession of the third quarter, Lusher caught the ball on the left side of the floor, drove towards the baseline and converted a tough floater to tie the game at 42-42 going into the fourth quarter.
There were four lead changes during the first four minutes of the fourth quarter, and neither team led by more than two points during the final 10 minutes.

Baker ran the floor hard, and grabbed the contested offensive rebound. A jump ball was called, and Le Moyne retained possession.
Once play restarted, Baker caught a pass below the right elbow and faced up her defender. Baker methodically backed into her defender towards the middle of the paint, then spun back towards her left shoulder and banked in a difficult contested fadeaway to give the 'Phins a 54-53 lead.
Teagan Curran scored to get the lead back for Assumption, then Linnin made a big play for Le Moyne.
With 2:02 left in the fourth, the rookie caught the ball on the left wing, gave her defender a pump fake, then drove to the basket and banked in a contested running layup over two Assumption defenders to put Le Moyne back on top, 56-55.
Mieczkowski stepped into a midrange jumper and knocked it down with 1:25 left in the fourth to give the Greyhounds a 57-56 lead.

Le Moyne called a timeout and set up a play to potentially win the game.

Roberts missed her initial layup attempt from the left block, but fought to grab the offensive rebound underneath the hoop. Roberts held onto the ball under pressure, moved to her right and finished a layup through contact with eight seconds left on the clock to give the Dolphins a 58-57 lead.
Assumption called timeout and advanced the ball to their frontcourt.
During Assumption's final possession, Goode applied lots of pressure to the ballhandler and did not allow Assumption to get a good shot off. The Greyhounds missed their final shot attempt.
The Le Moyne College women's basketball team will play their next two conference games on the road.
Up next, they will take on American International College on February 11.
