FIFTH-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE WINS EIGHTH STRAIGHT OVER 21ST-RANKED MERCYHURST, 18-6

Erie, Pa. – Graduate student attacker Sara Goodwin (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Virginia Tech) registered a career-best seven points to lead the fifth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to an 18-6 victory over 21st-ranked Mercyhurst University on Saturday afternoon at Saxon Stadium.

Graduate student midfielder Adrianna Nojaim (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) opened the game's scoring just 32 seconds into the contest with her third goal of the season.

Mercyhurst answered with consecutive goals to take the lead. Whitley Easton tied the score with 13:27 remaining off a pass from Alex Finocchario. Gabby McGinn followed with her ninth goal of the year with 11:51 left in the first quarter after taking a pass from Maggie Newton.

The Dolphins, who recorded their eighth straight victory over the Lakers since starting Division II play, regained the lead with the next two goals. Goodwin netted her first goal of the day at the 9:29 mark off a dish from Nojaim. Sophomore attacker Grace Detor (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) put Le Moyne back in front less than a minute later with her fourth goal of the campaign.

Newton tied the score for the final time with 4:02 to go with her seventh goal of the season.

Goodwin put the Dolphins up for good with her 11th tally of the year with 59 seconds left.

Le Moyne scored all eight of the second quarter's goals to take a 12-3 lead. Goodwin ignited the run 65 seconds into the quarter. Graduate student midfielder Katelyn Karleski (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) followed with her third and fourth goals of the season at the 12:20 and 10:46 marks, respectively, with the assist on the second goal coming from Goodwin, who then registered her fourth goal of the afternoon 18 seconds later. Detor converted a free-position shot with 6:46 to go for a 9-3 lead and then fed Nojaim for her second goal of the game with 5:13 left to get the Dolphins into double digits. Karleski completed her hat trick with 4:15 remaining on a free-position shot in an extra-man situation. Goodwin capped the scoring in the half by finding the back of the net on a free-position shot with 24 seconds left.

Graduate student attacker Jessica Meneilly (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) completed Le Moyne's 10-0 run with her 10th goal of the season 1:20 into the third quarter.

Victoria Gottorff snapped Mercyhurst's scoring drought of 22:28 off a pass from Newton in an extra-player situation with 11:34 remaining in the quarter.

Le Moyne extended its lead to 12 for the first time with three straight goals. Senior attacker Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) started the run with her sixth goal of the season at the 10:12 mark off a pass from Nojaim. Junior midfielder Reilly Geer (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) followed with her third goal of the year with 8:02 remaining after taking a feed from Addonizio, who then found the back of the net with 5:51 to go after collecting a dish from Goodwin.

Megan Millard tallied her second goal of the year with 1:32 left to complete the scoring in the quarter and get the Lakers within 16-5.

The Dolphins scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter. Meneilly registered her 11th goal of the campaign just 35 seconds into the period on a free-position shot in an extra-player situation. Freshman midfielder Sara Hunter (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) tallied her first career goal with 7:22 remaining on a free-position shot for an 18-5 lead.

Newton completed the game's scoring with 18 seconds left.

Senior goalkeeper Paige Crandall (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) registered four saves over the first 48 minutes to earn the victory between the pipes. AJ Jameson tallied six saves in the loss for the Lakers.

Le Moyne (4-0) completes non-conference action on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at third-ranked West Chester University.
