FIFTH-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE CRUISES TO 19-2 WIN OVER DAEMEN

Syracuse, N.Y. – Graduate student attacker Sara Goodwin (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Virginia Tech) recorded a career high-tying six points to lead the fifth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 19-2 victory over Daemen University on Wednesday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

"I'm very pleased with the way we executed on the field today," said head coach Liz Beville. "Having 12 different goal scorers is always exciting. Emma Regan was fantastic in the second half with six saves coming off the bench."

Goodwin scored each of Le Moyne's first four goals and had a hand in the first five. She opened the game's scoring just 56 seconds into the contest. She followed with her second goal less than three minutes later. Following a save by senior goalkeeper Paige Crandall (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson), she scored in transition at the 10:23 mark off a pass from graduate student midfielder Katelyn Karleski (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.). After almost four and one-half minutes of scoreless action, Goodwin converted a free-position shot for a 4-0 lead with 6:00 left in the opening quarter. Just 21 seconds later, she fed graduate student attacker Jessica Meneilly (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) for a quick-stick goal.

Graduate student midfielder Adrianna Nojaim (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) tallied her second goal of the season with 3:55 left by converting a free-position shot. Only 41 seconds later, sophomore attacker Grace Detor (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) posted her second goal of the campaign off a dish from senior attacker Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius). Junior midfielder Rhonee Shea Pal (Canastota, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) made it 8-0 39 seconds later after scooping up a loose ball after a Daemen save. Junior midfielder Reilly Geer (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) made it 9-0 with 1:12 to go with her second tally of the season. Goodwin closed out the quarter's scoring with her 10th goal of the year with 25 seconds left to put the Dolphins up 10-0.

Le Moyne tallied the first five goals of the second quarter to extend its lead to 15-0. Junior attacker Sarah Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) started the scoring at the 12:50 mark off a pass from Detor. Pal netted her second goal of the game at the 9:06 mark after collecting a pass from Addonizio. Detor found the back of the net for the second time in the contest with 6:19 remaining after taking a feed in transition from fifth-year defender Taylor Reich (Marietta, N.Y./Marcellus). After forcing a turnover and scooping up the loose ball, senior defender Savannah Fish (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) went coast-to-coast to score her second career goal with 4:22 remaining in the half. Freshman midfielder Jane Austenfeld (Lisle, N.Y./Whitney Point) recorded her first career goal with 1:06 left after causing a turnover on a Daemen clear attempt and collecting the loose ball.

Ella Bouley got the Wildcats on the scoreboard with eight seconds remaining in the half.

Junior defender Lilly Locastro (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) scored the only goal of the third quarter at the 12:26 mark after taking a give-and-go pass from Hutchings for her first career goal.

Senior attacker Kelly Thomas (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) recorded her first goal of the season at the 12:46 mark of the fourth quarter by converting a free-position shot.

Daemen, which is in its first season of competition, tallied its second goal of the game at the 9:44 mark as Camryn Day scored her third goal of the season.

Le Moyne tallied the final two goals of the game. Sophomore midfielder Haley Emmick (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) netted her fifth career goal with 6:47 left off a feed from freshman attacker Alexa Strelick (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas). Austenfeld completed the scoring with 11 seconds left.

Crandall finished with three saves in the first half to earn the victory between the pipes, while sophomore Emma Regan (Frederick, Md./Urbana) tallied six saves in the second half. Blair Pfohl registered 11 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.
