Louisville, Ky. – Le Moyne softball redshirt-junior right-handed pitcher Laura Bennett (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) and sophomore outfielder Alyssa Dybacz (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker) have been included among the nation's top performers by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 Committee for the week of April 3-9.

During Le Moyne's 5-3 week, Bennett made seven appearances with four starts and earned three complete-game victories with 34 strikeouts.

Bennett led Le Moyne to their first conference victory of the season on April 4 against Southern New Hampshire, allowing zero earned runs with nine Ks in 7.0 innings of work.

The 'Phins were aided in the comeback victory by a grand slam from senior first baseman Mckenzie Bergdoll (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro).

Bennett earned her second complete game victory of the week during Le Moyne's home opener against New Haven on Friday. The two-time NE10 All-Conference selection held the Chargers to two earned runs in 7.0 innings during game one, then she closed out the doubleheader sweep by delivering five strikeouts in the final 2.0 innings of game two to secure a 13-7 Le Moyne win.

Bennett then tossed a gem in game one against the Southern Connecticut State Owls on Saturday, allowing just two hits and one run with seven strikeouts in 7.0 innings. She made her final appearance of the week in game two against the Owls, retiring the first three batters she faced in the top of the sixth before Le Moyne ended the game via run rule in the bottom of the inning.

Bennett currently leads all Northeast-10 Conference pitchers in complete games (15) and is second among NE10 hurlers in both strikeouts (144), and wins (12).

Dybacz, who has started all 33 games in the outfield for the Dolphins this season, batted .462 with a .808 slugging percentage during Le Moyne's 5-3 week. Le Moyne's sophomore two-hitter provided 12 hits, including six doubles and a home run, seven runs scored and eight RBIs during the eight-game stretch.

The Baldwinsville native, who was named to the 2022 NE10 All-Rookie Team as well as the All-Conference Second Team after slashing .373/.405/.517 in 40 starts during her first collegiate campaign, recorded a combined two hits, two runs scored and an RBI during the Saint Anselm doubleheader, then she tallied two runs scored, a hit and an RBI during Le Moyne's win at SNHU on Tuesday.

Dybacz delivered two hits in each of Le Moyne's four home victories. She tallied a combined four doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored during Le Moyne's sweep of New Haven, then she provided two hits and two RBIs in both of the 'Phins' wins over Southern Connecticut State.

During Le Moyne's 2-1 win over SCSU during game one of Saturday's doubleheader, Dybacz ripped a leadoff double in the bottom of the third which led to her scoring Le Moyne's first run, then she smashed another double in the bottom of the fifth to drive in the game-winning run.

Following Le Moyne's doubleheader sweep of Saint Rose on Tuesday, the sophomore right fielder extended her hitting streak to 15 games, which is the longest streak in the NE10.

Dybacz leads the league in doubles (15), conference doubles (9), total extra-base hits (21) and extra-base hits against conference opponents (11). She is currently fourth in the NE10 in conference batting average (.462) behind senior center fielder Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick/Mathieu-Martin/Pace) who leads the league with a .500 average through 12 conference contests. Dybacz is third among NE10 hitters in total slugging percentage (.676) and leads the conference in slugging percentage against NE10 opponents (.846).

Through 12 NE10 battles in 2023, Boudreau and Dybacz are both top five in the league in on-base percentage at .524 and .523, respectively.

Dybacz has also scored 13 runs during conference contests, which is tied for third most in the NE10.

The Le Moyne College softball team (18-15, 7-5 NE10) will return to action this weekend with a doubleheader at American International on Saturday, followed by a doubleheader at Assumption on Sunday.
