MEN’S TENNIS ADVANCES TO THIRD STRAIGHT NE10 CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH WITH 4-0 WIN OVER SAINT MICHAEL’S

Syracuse, N.Y. – Graduate student Tom Jarry (Paris, France/CNED Toulouse/Emmanuel) and senior Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) were each double winners to lead the Le Moyne College men's tennis team to a 4-0 victory over Saint Michael's College in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships semifinals on Thursday afternoon at the Skytop Tennis Courts.

With the victory, the Dolphins (13-3) advance to the final of the NE10 Championships for the third consecutive year. For the second straight year, the Dolphins will host Southern New Hampshire University on Sunday. The match is scheduled to be played at 1:00 p.m. at the Skytop Tennis Courts. If the match is forced indoors, it will be played at 4:00 p.m. at Drumlins Country Club.

Le Moyne took a 1-0 advantage in the match by claiming the point in the doubles competition. Piekarek and classmate Rodrigo Beires (Porto, Portugal/Agrupamento de Escolas Garcia de Orta/Universidade Portucalense) recorded a 6-1 win at the third position over Seb Tonini and Simon Lundholm. Jarry and senior Ethan Miller (Swindon, England/Cirencetser Kingshill School) clinched the point with a 6-1 victory at the second spot over Josh Weiss and Jason Boucher.

Jarry put the Dolphins up 2-0 by defeating Boucher at third singles, 6-2, 6-0. Piekarek followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the fifth spot over Mathis Billman. Sophomore Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at the first position over Weiss.
