Waltham, Mass. – The seventh-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team scored the final four goals to rally for a 13-10 victory over 18th-ranked Bentley University on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Bentley Field.
"Today was not the prettiest win, but we'll take them anyway they come," said head coach
Liz Beville. "Bentley's goalie had a tremendous day in cage and really challenged our shooters. I think us winning the 50/50 stats along with some key defensive stops helped us walk away with a win today."
Bentley opened the game's scoring with a pair of goals in a span of 41 seconds. Following a save by Ashlee Wargo, Kenzie Lupton converted a free-position shot with 12:42 left for her 28th goal of the year. She scored again off a free-position shot 41 seconds later in an extra-player opportunity.
Le Moyne, which clinched at least the second seed in the upcoming NE10 Championship, answered with two goals in a stretch of 46 seconds to knot the score at two. Following a save by each goalkeeper and a turnover by each team, graduate student midfielder
Katelyn Karleski (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) netted her 18th goal of the season to get the Dolphins on the scoreboard with 7:16 remaining in the half. Senior attacker
Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) followed with her 20th marker of the campaign at the 6:30 mark.
The Falcons regained the lead with the final goal of the quarter as Lupton converted her third free-position shot of the period with 4:58 to go.
The Dolphins tallied the first four goals of the second quarter to take their largest lead of the game. After an empty possession by each team to start the period, graduate student midfielder
Adrianna Nojaim (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) scored in an extra-player situation at the 13:15 mark for her 11th goal of the season to tie the score. After almost eight minutes of scoreless play, junior attacker
Sarah Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) put the Dolphins in front for the first time with her 18th goal of the season with 5:24 left. Just 29 seconds later, Addonizio finished off a feed from junior midfielder

She scored again 22 seconds later on a free-position shot. Courtney Dermody tied the score with 1:45 remaining on a free-position shot.
Le Moyne took a 7-6 lead into the intermission as Addonizio found the back of the net for the 22nd time this season and the 75th time in her career with nine seconds remaining.
The teams, who each recorded a win over Adelphi in the last week, traded goals in the third quarter. Le Moyne started the scoring at the 11:10 mark as Hutchings recorded her 19th goal of the season. Caroline Affolter answered back just over one minute later with her 23rd goal of the season after picking up the loose ball after a shot was saved. Just 56 seconds later, graduate student attacker
Sara Goodwin (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Virginia Tech) pushed Le Moyne's lead back to two with her 45th goal of the season. Sydney Lynch ended the quarter's back-and-forth scoring with her 17th goal of the year after taking a pass from Dermody with 4:07 remaining.
Bentley registered a pair of goals in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter to take the lead back. Affolter evened the score at nine apiece just 38 seconds into the period after collecting a feed from Abby Jowett. Only 64 seconds later, McAuliffe put the Falcons in front for the final time off a pass from Dermody.
The Dolphins closed out the game with the final four goals. Following three empty possessions by each team, junior midfielder
Rhonee Shea Pal (Canastota, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) finished off a feed from Hutchings with 6:23 remaining in the game to tie the score at 10. Just 42 seconds later, Nojaim converted a free-position shot in an extra-player opportunity to put the Dolphins in front for good.
