Worcester, Mass. – The Le Moyne College softball team (23-22, 12-12 NE10) earned the no. 7 seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship and will travel to
Assumption University (21-17, 13-11 NE10) to take on the no. 6-seed Greyhounds on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
The 'Phins won 11 of 14 conference games between April 7 and April 22 to put themselves in position to claim one of the eight spots in the NE10 tournament.
Le Moyne finished the regular season with a 9-1 conference resume at home, including three straight home sweeps over New Haven, Southern Connecticut State and Saint Rose.
As a team, Le Moyne finished the regular season second in the league in batting average (.315), on-base percentage (.381), slugging percentage (.445), home runs (12), RBI (117), extra-base hits (56) and runs scored (125) during conference play. The Dolphins led the league with 42 doubles during the regular season conference schedule.
Sophomore outfielder
Alyssa Dybacz (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker) led the Dolphins with a .421 batting average through the 24-game conference schedule, which is the fourth-best average in the league. Dybacz led all NE10 hitters during the regular season in total doubles (17), doubles during conference games (11), and extra-base hits during conference play (16). Dybacz also contributed 22 runs scored (3
rd in NE10), 22 RBI (t-4
th in NE10), five home runs (t-2
nd in NE10) with a .421/.482/.763 slash line during Le Moyne's 24 conference battles. The Baldwinsville native has recorded just 10 strikeouts in 142 at bats.
Dybacz and senior center fielder
Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick/Mathieu-Martin/Pace) each delivered 32 hits during conference play, which is two hits behind the league leaders.
Le Moyne senior first baseman
Mckenzie Bergdoll (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro) was right behind Dybacz with 13 extra-base hits during league play, which is tied for second most among NE10 hitters. Bergdoll was also second in the league with 25 NE10 RBI. Le Moyne's senior three-hitter put together a .373/.440/.640 slash line with nine doubles and three home runs and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on defense during her final conference campaign.

Audrey Benderski (30), Dybacz (34) and Bergdoll (35) each finished the regular season with at least 20 total RBI for the 'Phins.
Dybacz and Larobardiere, who both started all 45 regular season games, lead the Dolphins in home runs with seven each so far in 2023. Larobardiere slashed .309/.412/.569 with 11 doubles, 28 runs batted in, 21 runs, 15 walks drawn and eight hit by pitches to go along with those seven home runs during the regular season.
Barrett leads the Dolphins in walks drawn with 17, including a team-best 12 during NE10 play.
Audrey Benderski (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) started all 45 games during her first regular season with the Dolphins and put together a slash line of .309/.371/.485 with 30 RBI, 11 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 13 walks drawn.
Sophomore
Dominique Rinaldi (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) started all 45 games at second base for the Dolphins and tallied 35 hits, 20 runs, 14 RBI, 10 walks and a team-high six sacrifice hits with a .374 on-base percentage. She also recorded a team-high 69 assists in the field.
Dybacz (.439 OB%, .676 SLG%), Bergdoll (.425 OB%, .595 SLG%) and Larobardiere (.412 OB%, .569 SLG%) are three of just 11 players in the NE10 to have registered an on-base percentage over .400 with a slugging percentage above .560 during the regular season.
Le Moyne redshirt-junior right-handed pitcher
Laura Bennett (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) is second among NE10 pitchers in total wins (16) and total complete games (21) and tied for first in complete games during conference play (12). She is third in the league in total strikeouts (185) and tied for third in conference wins (9).
Redshirt-sophomore right-hander
Michaela Stockwell (Fort Plain, N.Y./Fort Plain) earned two NE10 victories in the circle for the 'Phins during the regular season, while sophomore righty
Julia Panarella (Southington, Conn./Southington) tossed 37.0 innings during NE10 play and delivered a two-hit shutout during a five-inning win at American International on April 15.
The Greyhounds recorded an NE10-best 63 stolen bases during their 24 conference games and were fourth in the league with a 2.56 team ERA.
Assumption junior catcher Corin Mahan and senior center fielder Jordan Dwyer led the Greyhounds with conference batting averages of .353 and .352, respectively, while Mahan produced a team-best 15 RBI in NE10 play. First-year right fielder Kaitlyn Cahill slashed .324/.378/.456 with 14 RBI during the conference slate. On the season Dwyer is slashing .344/.396/.500 with 21 stolen bases and just eight strikeouts in 122 at bats.
Le Moyne and Assumption met in Worcester for a doubleheader during the regular season on April 14, and the Greyhounds claimed two wins over the Dolphins by scores of 2-1 and 5-0.
Assumption also claimed the no. 6 seed in the 2022 NE10 Championship where they earned a 3-2 win over no.7 Bentley in the first round, then took down no. 3 Franklin Pierce by a score of 1-0 on the first day of Championship Weekend before falling 5-4 to the no. 2 seed Saint Anselm in the semifinals.
Le Moyne and Assumption split their regular season doubleheader in Syracuse during the 2022 campaign. The 'Phins claimed an 8-0 win in six innings during game one before falling 3-2 in the second half of the doubleheader.
The two programs last met in the NE10 Championship during the 2016 season, when the Dolphins claimed a 10-2 win over the Greyhounds in five innings to advance to the tournament semifinals.
The Dolphins last competed in the NE10 Championship during the shortened 2021 season. Le Moyne claimed a 2-0 win over Pace in the first round the 2021 postseason tournament behind a three-hit complete-game shutout from Bennett and an RBI double from Barrett.
The winner of Tuesday's matchup between the Dolphins and the Greyhounds will advance to
NE10 Championship weekend and take on the no. 3-seed Franklin Pierce for a chance to advance to the tournament semifinals.
