SIX DOLPHINS EARN NE10 SOFTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE RECOGNITION

Mansfield, Mass. – Six different Le Moyne softball players earned Northeast-10 All-Conference recognition on Wednesday as the NE10 announced the All-Conference Award winners.

Sophomore right fielder Alyssa Dybacz (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker) and senior first baseman Mckenzie Bergdoll (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro) were both named to the All-Conference First Team, while freshman DP Audrey Benderski (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park), redshirt-sophomore right-handed pitcher Laura Bennett (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) and senior center fielder Isabelle Boudreau (Memramcook, New Brunswick/Mathieu-Martin/Pace) each earned a spot on the third team.

Benderski was also named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team, and graduate catcher Cassidy Barrett (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) was placed on the All-Defensive Team after starting 22 conference games behind the plate for the Dolphins.

Dybacz led all NE10 hitters in total doubles (17), doubles during conference play (11) and extra-base hits during conference play (16). The sophomore outfielder also contributed 22 runs (3rd in NE10), five home runs (t-2nd in NE10), 22 RBI (t-4th in NE10) and 32 hits (t-3rd in NE10) during Le Moyne's 24-game conference schedule. Dybacz put together a slash line of .421/.482/.763 in conference and went on a 16-game hitting streak, including a 13-game conference hitting streak during the middle of the campaign. On the year, Dybacz tallied 40 runs, 34 RBI, 17 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 10 walks and seven stolen bases while starting all 46 games in right field.
Dybacz previously earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team as well as the All-Rookie Team following her freshman campaign with the Dolphins in 2022.

Bergdoll was second in the league with 25 RBI during conference play, and her 13 extra-base hits (including nine doubles) against NE10 competition was second in the league behind Dybacz. The senior slashed .373/.440/.640 with 28 hits and 14 runs and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 24 starts at first base during conference play.  On the year, Bergdoll tallied 35 RBI, 13 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 25 runs, 15 walks and three stolen bases. She started 45 of the team's 46 games in 2023.

Bennett earned nine conference victories in the circle for the 'Phins in 2023 and tallied 91 strikeouts with a 2.09 ERA in 93.2 innings pitched during NE10 battles. In 12 conference starts, Bennett recorded 12 complete games. On the year, Bennett recorded 16 wins, 22 complete games, three shutouts, two saves, a 1.75 ERA and 188 strikeouts. The redshirt-junior is now a three-time NE10 All-Conference honoree following her third campaign on the Heights. She was named to the All-Conference Third Team as well as the All-Rookie Team following the 2021 season, then she earned a spot on the NE10 All-Conference Second Team after the 2022 campaign.  

Boudreau slashed .395/.410/.407 with 32 hits (t-3rd in NE10) and 21 runs scored (4th in NE10) in 24 starts in center field during conference play. She accumulated a team-high 57 hits on the year with 33 runs scored, three doubles, seven RBI and six stolen bases while starting in all 46 games. Boudreau was named to the All-Conference Second Team in 2022 following her first season with the Dolphins. She was named to the 2021 NE10 All-Conference Third Team as well as the All-Rookie Team after competing for the Pace Setters.

Benderski started all 46 games during her rookie campaign with a slash line of .309/.374/.482. She produced 18 hits, including seven extra-base hits and 16 runs batted in during conference play. On the year she recorded 31 RBI, 11 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 14 walks.

Barrett was named to the All-Defensive Team with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 22 conference starts at catcher. Le Moyne's graduate catcher recorded 14 assists and caught five runners stealing during NE10 play. Barrett also produced 20 hits, including three doubles and a home run, 10 RBI and 12 walks at the plate in conference. The left-handed hitting catcher was previously named to the NE10 All-Conference First Team in 2022.

The Dolphins finished the 2023 regular season with a 23-22 overall record, including a 12-12 resume in conference and earned the no. 7 seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, where they fell to the no. 6 seed Assumption by a score of 3-2.
