FDU DEFEATS VOLLEYBALL 3-0

Syracuse, N.Y.  – The Le Moyne College volleyball team hosted FDU at Ted Grant Court on Saturday for their fourth conference match of the season. The Knights won the match 3-0, with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-20.
 
"Despite the results, I'm proud of the team's efforts tonight" said head coach Susan Kim. "I'm happy with how they bounced back after a not-so-great loss yesterday. They definitely have some fight in them, and we just need them to play like that on a consistent basis. We'll keep plugging away and we're not looking to give up anytime soon."
 
For the Dolphins, senior outside hitter Madison Dembroski (Plattekill, N.Y. / Wallkill) registered 10 kills. Junior outside hitter Emily La Ruffa (Rock Hill, N.Y. / Monticello) followed closely with nine kills and sophomore middle hitter Kayla Anstett (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) with had seven. Sophomore middle hitter Nil Ezgi Tasdelen (Izmir, Turkey / Ugur Okullari) put up six blocks, and both Dembroski and Anstett had three blocks. Junior libero/DS Ella Katz (Burnt Hills, N.Y. / Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake) had 12 digs, three aces and two assists. Sophomore setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) led the offense 30 assists. Junior outside hitter Emily La Ruffa (Rock Hill, N.Y. / Monticello) had 9 digs, and Dembroski had eight digs.
 
For the Knights, Sofia Rampazzo recorded 16 digs, 11 kills, three aces, and two assists. Avery Bain had nine kills. Giorgia Vaschetti had seven kills and four blocks. Hannah Schmidt had 27 assists. Kyndal Ganoe had 12 digs, and Kinsley Warbritton had 10 digs.
 
The Dolphins next match will be Saturday, October 7th, at 5:00pm against Saint Francis University at DeGol Arena.
