Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's basketball team had six players score in double figures and nailed 18 three-pointers en route to a 94-57 victory over Saint Francis University on Sunday afternoon in Northeast Conference action at Ted Grant Court.

Luke Sutherland (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Siena/Bryant) went off for 18 points by making six consecutive shots, including four three-pointers, in a span of 6:40 to start the second half. Graduate student guards
Kaiyem Cleary (Manchester, England/Redemption Christian Academy (NY)/Florida Southern/Florida Southwestern/Ball State) and
Isaiah Salter (Charlotte, N.C./Central Cabarrus/American International/Adelphi) each tallied 15 points, while Cleary had 11 points in the first half and Salter had 10 and made all six of his shot attempts in the game, including a trio of three-pointers. Sophomore guard
Trent Mosquera (Brookline, Mass./Belmont Hill School) and redshirt freshman forward
Nate Fouts (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles/Kimball Union Academy) each scored 11 points, while Fouts had a career-high five assists and Mosquera had three assists and two steals. Senior guard
Darrick Jones Jr. (Richmond, Va./Oak Hill Academy/Towson) tallied 10 first-half points and posted six rebounds and four assists. Graduate student guard
Nate McClure (Houston, Texas/Concordia Lutheran/Texas State/State Fair C.C./IUPUI) led all players with nine rebounds, while graduate student guard
Mike DePersia (Cherry Hill, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial/IUPUI) dished out six assists and did not commit a turnover. As a team, the Dolphins connected on 18 three-pointers, the most in a home game in the program's history and tied for the second-most overall. The last time the Dolphins hit at least 18 three-pointers was when they made a program-record 21 on November 10, 2019 against Chestnut Hill, head coach Nate Champion's first victory as the bench boss. Additionally, the 18 three-pointers are the most by a team in an NEC game since Monmouth tied a league record with 19 vs. LIU on February 21, 1998.
Eli Wilborn led the Red Flash in the loss with 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from the foul line, while adding three rebounds and three assists. Carlos Lopez, Jr. netted 11 points off the bench.
After the teams went back and forth over the opening 6:18 of the game, capped by an Aidan Harris three-pointer for a 9-7 Saint Francis lead, the Dolphins scored 13 straight points to take control of the contest. Fouts started the run with a jumper, Cleary drilled a three-pointer to beat the shot clock, Salter made a jumper, McClure converted a foul shot, Jones Jr. had a put-back dunk and then Salter drilled a three-pointer for a 20-9 lead with 8:53 left in the half.
Following eight points from each team over the next four minutes, Jones Jr. drained back-to-back three-pointers to put the Dolphins up 17, but Lopez, Jr. answered with two consecutive of his own.
Le Moyne followed with nine straight points over 1:16 to take its first 20-point lead of the game. Freshman guard
AJ Dancler (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) started the run with a conventional three-point play and then followed with a shot from behind the three-point line. Out of Le Moyne's "use it or lose it" timeout, Cleary buried a three-pointer for a 43-23 lead with 40 seconds left.
Cam Gregory made a jumper with 27 seconds left to get the Red Flash within 43-25 at halftime.
The teams went back and forth over the opening six minutes of the second half as Le Moyne's lead bounced between 16 and 22 points. Sutherland scored 12 of Le Moyne's 15 points in the span.
After Lopez, Jr. got the Red Flash within 18 for the final time with 14:09 left, the Dolphins ran off 19 of the next 23 points to push their lead to 77-44 with 8:20 left. Sutherland drained a pair of three-pointers around a fast-break dunk by Cleary off a steal to start the streak, Salter made a three-pointer, Fouts hit a shot in the paint, Cleary made a free throw, Mosquera buried a three-pointer and then Salter had a fast-break basket off a steal to force a Saint Francis timeout.
The Red Flash scored the next four points, but the Dolphins answered with a 14-3 run to extend their lead to 40 for the first time. Fouts connected on back-to-back shots in the paint, Mosquera followed with a reverse lay-up and two three-pointers and then redshirt freshman guard
Kaelin Thomas (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic) had a backdoor lay-up for a 91-51 advantage with 2:45 to play.
Saint Francis trimmed its deficit by scoring six of the last nine points.
Le Moyne (8-11, 3-2 NEC) is back in action at home on Saturday against LIU at 2:00 p.m.
