Cambridge, Mass. – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team had four players participate in the ITA New England Regional on Thursday and Friday at Harvard University's Beren Tennis Center.
In singles action, junior
Paula Casares (A Coruna, Spain/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey) suffered a a 6-0, 6-3 setback to Brown University's Lindsey Hofflander in the first round of the qualifying draw.
In the main draw, graduate student
Feriel Mahbouli (Tunisia/South Carolina State) was upended in the first round by Boston University's Uma Bakaiyte, 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles play, Mahbouli and sophomore
Ella Fernando (Manchester, England / Stonyhurst College) were edged by Brown's Gabriella Soliman and Anne Moody in the first round, 8-7 (7-3).
Casares and senior
Isabella Barona (Manta, Ecuador/Talentos de Manta) were downed by Dartmouth College's Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore, 8-0.
The Dolphins close out the Fall season at the Cornell Invitational on October 25-27.
