VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO NEC RIVAL LIU

Brooklyn, N.Y.  – The Le Moyne College volleyball team finished out their season series against LIU and fell in three sets on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks win (25-19, 25-15, 25-15) pushes Le Moyne to 2-18 overall and 1-7 in conference play this season. 

For the Dolphins, freshman outside hitter Denali Louden (Murrieta, C.A. / Murrieta Mesa) led with seven kills while freshman outside hitter Jordyn Hamlin (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) added another six against the Sharks. Freshman setter Skylar Jehlen (Rochester, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) put up a team-high in assists with 11, with junior setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) adding 10 of her own for Le Moyne. On defense, Hamlin added the high in digs with 11 while freshman libero/DS Brooke Menke (St. Louis, M.O. / Visitation Academy) recorded another 10. Junior middle hitter Kayla Anstett (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) led the squad with one block solo and one block assist in the match.

For LIU, Camelia Melendez led with 11 kills while also adding 10 digs and three service aces. Selina Koc tallied the high in assists with 25, while Reese Teves recorded four service aces. On the defensive side of the ball, Alasha Colon tallied 11 digs with Bria Plante putting up four block assists in the win.

The Dolphins will hit the road once again to take on Central Connecticut State (3-17, 1-7) next Friday, Nov. 1 at 6:00 P.M.
