Teaneck, N.J. - The Le Moyne College women's soccer team were defeated in its final game of the season against FDU.
The Dolphins made one change to their previous starting lineup against CCSU, as redshirt freshman
Logan Cookinham (Poland, N.Y./Poland) made her 10
th start of the season. Senior midfielder

Brooke Wilson (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton), senior midfielder
Danielle Casey (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), junior midfielder/defender
Lindsey LeBlanc (Westminister, Mass./St. Bernard's), junior defender
Jasmina Barhoumi (Worms, Germany/Nelly-Sachs-IGS/D'Youville), and freshman goalkeeper
Mikayla McPheron (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) all played the full 90 minutes of Thursday's contest.
The Knights scored their first goal of the game in the 9th minute off a first time strike into the top left corner by sophomore defender Emily Villanueva. Sophomore midfielder Katie Cardaba and sophomore defender Ana Salas combined on the right wing, before laying off a pass to Villanueva.
Le Moyne made two changes in the 15
th and 16
th minute, bringing on sophomore midfielder
Kyla Sustad (Willet, N.Y./Cincinnatus/Merrimack) and sophomore midfielder
Maria Komala (Warsaw, Poland/Notre Dame College). Freshman forward
Alivia Day (Rochester, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) joined Sustad and Komala in the 25
th minute.
McPheron made her first save of the game in the 27
th minute off a shot by senior midfielder/forward Leighann Kafel that was headed towards the bottom right corner. Freshman midfielder
Sara Ullman (Washington, D.C./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) and freshman midfielder
Ajla Ikeljic (Utica, N.Y./Frankfurt-Schuyler) entered the game three minutes later looking to provide a spark for the 'Phins.
Ikeljic registered the first shot of the game for Le Moyne in the 32
nd minute as her shot was saved by freshman goalkeeper Rosemarie Leblanc. Just three minutes later, the Dolphins added another shot on target as Casey had her shot headed to the bottom left corner saved by Leblanc. McPheron recorded her second save of the game in the 37
th minute off a shot from junior midfielder Andrea Ougaard.Â
The Dolphins and Knights continued to battle as the two teams entered the half with Le Moyne trailing 1-0.

Courtney Felton (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield/Roberts Wesleyan) was the first substitution of the 2
nd half, entering the game in the 50
th minute. FDU registered the only shot in the following ten minutes of play, not troubling McPheron as the ball went out for a goal kick. Sustad, Cookinham, and freshman forward
Nicole Calle (Providence, R.I./Cumberland) entered the game in the 60
th, 61
st and 63
rd minute for Le Moyne.
FDU scored its second goal of the game in the 65th minute by senior forward Kiomy Luperon. The Knights built up play on the left wing, playing a few short passes before crossing the ball into the box, as Luperon got to the end of it giving the FDU a 2-0 lead.
The Knights scored their third goal of the game seven minutes later off a shot by Salas that slipped through the gloves of McPheron to give FDU a 3-0 lead.
With just over fifteen minutes to go, Casey earned a shot that was just to the left of the goal. The Dolphins were still looking to get on the scoreboard. In the 78
th minute, Day returned to the field to provide additional support going forward, as Felton joined her three minutes later.Â
In the 83
rd minute, Casey earned her third yellow card of the season for a shove in the back of an FDU player challenging for a header. Three minutes later, Komala registered the third shot on target for Le Moyne, as Leblanc made a save to her right side.
The game ended 3-0 as FDU defeated Le Moyne in the Dolphin's season finale. With the win, FDU clinched its playoff birth for the 2024 Northeast Conference Women's Soccer Championships. Le Moyne concluded its second season in the NEC with a record of 2-15-2 overall and 1-7-2 in NEC play.
