Syracuse N.Y.  – The Le Moyne College volleyball team hosted FDU in their first conference match of the season on Friday night. The Dolphins came out on top in set one, 25-20, but the Knights stormed back to take the final three sets, 25-21, 25-22, 25-15. Le Moyne sits at 1-12 overall and 0-1 in NEC play this season.

For Le Moyne, freshman middle hitter Anaya Rawlinson (Whitby, O.N. / Sinclair Secondary School) led with eleven kills, while sophomore opposite hitter Branwyn Lupton (Napanee, O.N. / Napanee District Secondary School) added another 10 for the 'Phins. Junior setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) put up a game-high 25 assists with freshman setter Skylar Jehlen (Rochester, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) tallying another 16 in the match. Defensively, freshman libero/DS Brooke Menke (St. Louis, M.O. / Visitation Academy) recorded 10 digs, while Rawlinson led with three block assists. Menke, Jehlen, and Gerken each registered two service aces against the Knights, as well. 

For FDU, Giorgia Vaschetti led with 10 kills, while MacKenzy Ruggiero and Kylie Nott each added another nine against the Dolphins. Hannah Schmidt (18) and Megan Bushnell (12) both recorded double-digit assists, with Eleonora Tosi rounding out the offense with four service aces. Defensively, Maria Cisneros led with nine digs, followed closely by Kyndal Ganoe who tallied eight for the Knights. Nott recorded one block solo and three block assists in the win.

The Dolphins will hit the court again looking for their first NEC win against FDU on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1:00 P.M.
