Hartford, Conn. – The Le Moyne College men's basketball team will travel to take on the #3 UConn Huskies in their fourth game of the 2024-25 regular season this Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7:00 P.M.

Series History:
Wednesday marks the first time that the Dolphins and Huskies will meet in the history of the two programs.

Dolphins' Season:
Le Moyne will be leaving the Syracuse area for the first time this season after taking down SUNY Poly, 107-73, at home in its first win on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The Dolphins captured their first victory against the Wildcats after falling in their season opener against the Syracuse Orange, 86-82, on Nov. 4 and the CSUN Matadors in their home opener, on Nov. 6. Le Moyne's 107 points scored against SUNY Poly were it's most since the 2019-20 season when the Dolphins took down Saint Anselm College, 108-88. Le Moyne's 34-point margin of victory marked their best since Jan. 21, 2024, when they beat Saint Francis University, 94-57, in a Northeast Conference matchup.

Le Moyne had twelve players appear and six tally double-digit points in the win over SUNY Poly. Redshirt junior forward Dwayne Koroma (Berlin, Germany/Iona/Salt Lake C.C./UT Arlington) led the squad with 17 points and tied for the team-high in rebounds with six while going 8-9 from the field in 25 minutes against the Wildcats. Koroma's hot start to the season has him leading the team in field goal percentage (.875), second in rebounds per game (5.0), and tied for third in points per game with 11.

Junior guard Trent Mosquera (Brookline, Mass./Belmont High School) followed closely behind with 14 points of his own, along with two rebounds and steals, as well.

Freshman forward Isaac Nyakundi (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East/The MacDuffie School (Mass.)), junior guard Zek Tekin (Istanbul, Turkey/Ozel Esenkent Okaynus Anadolu Lisesi/Siena), redshirt sophomore forward Nate Fouts (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles/Kimball Union Academy), and fifth-year guard Darrick Jones Jr. (Richmond, Va./Oak Hill Academy/Towson) each added 10 or more points for the Dolphins in the victory.

Nyakundi and redshirt freshman Deng Garang (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) scored their first collegiate points against SUNY Poly.

Le Moyne shot nearly 60% from the field and 33% from behind the arc against the Wildcats, both bests so far this season.

A Look at the Huskies:
#3 UConn is undefeated on the young season, with wins over Sacred Heart and New Hampshire kicking off the year. The Huskies took down the Pioneers, 92-56, on Nov. 6 before turning to the UNH Wildcats and beating them in a similar fashion, 93-53, on Nov. 9.

The Huskies are coming off back-back seasons in which they've won the men's Division-I National Championship. The team, led by head coach Dan Hurley, took down Purdue, 75-60, in the 2024 title game to become the third program to win back-to-back championships since the early 1970s.

To start the 2024-25 campaign, the Huskies have had five players average double-digit points, including forward Alex Karaban who leads the pack with 18.5 points per game. Karaban posted a 20/6/7 line while hitting five threes and adding seven blocks in the season opener against Sacred Heart.

Karaban leads all players on the squad with at least 10 minutes played per game in all major categories other than field goal percentage and rebounds per game.

Forward Liam McNeeley has been a force for UConn, currently averaging 10.5 rebounds/game and 14 points with four three-pointers drained through two collegiate games.

Center Tarris Reed Jr. is also playing a part in the paint averaging 21.5 minutes/game while tallying 13 points on a .692 field goal percentage, along with 9.5 rebounds.

Guard Solo Ball has added 15 points/game for UConn while also leading the team with 1.5 steals and adding 3.5 assists per game this season.

Guard Aidan Mahaney rounds out the Huskies' rotation and has averaged 22.5 minutes per game so far this year. Mahaney went 0-3 from the floor to start the season but rebounded with nine points including two three-pointers made against UNH.

The Huskies are currently outscoring their opponents by 37.5 points per game, out-rebounding by 19, and out-blocking by a margin of 11.5 through two games.

What's Next:
After the team faces off against UConn, the Dolphins will travel to St. Bonaventure, N.Y. to take on the Bonnies (2-0) on Saturday, Nov. 16 with tip-off scheduled for 4:00 P.M.
