VOLLEYBALL DOWNS CCSU FOR BACK-TO-BACK WINS

New Britain, C.T.  – The Le Moyne College volleyball team wrapped up their season series against Central Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins came away with a three-set sweep; 25-18, 25-16, 25-23 to record their first back-to-back wins of the season and  improve their record to 4-18 overall and 3-7 in conference play this season.

For the Dolphins, sophomore opposite hitter Branwyn Lupton (Napanee, O.N. / Napanee District Secondary School) led with 10 kills, while freshman middle hitter Anaya Rawlinson (Whitby, O.N. / Sinclair Secondary School) followed closely behind with nine of her own. Junior setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frontier) led the team in assists with 16 while freshman setter Skylar Jehlen (Rochester, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili) added another 13 for Le Moyne. Defensively, freshman libero/DS Brooke Menke (St. Louis, M.O. / Visitation Academy) led the team with 13 digs, while freshman outside hitter Jordyn Hamlin (Manahawkin, N.J. / Southern Regional) added 12, as well. Freshman outside hitter Nina Salas (Austin, T.X. / McNeil) led with one block solo while Lupton racked up two block assists in the win.

For CCSU, Lauren Milani led with 16 kills and added 10 digs, as well. Madison Massaro-Cook put up a match-high 26 assists while Weronika Poczynek and Annabelle Denomme led in digs against Le Moyne with 15 apiece. Isabella Bratzke tallied a match-high two block solos while adding another block assist in the match.

The Dolphins will return to The Heights to take on Saint Francis University for their final home matches of the season next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9.
