Syracuse, N.Y. – Ryan Curry hit a shot clock-beating three-pointer with 6.9 seconds remaining in the third overtime period to give Army West Point a 103-100 victory over the Le Moyne College men's basketball team on Tuesday night at Ted Grant Court.

Dwayne Koroma (Berlin, Germany/Bishop Walsh (Md.)/Iona/Salt Lake C.C./UT Arlington) registered his first career double-double with career-highs of 19 points, all of which came after halftime (12 in the second half, seven in overtime), and 15 rebounds. Junior guard
Zek Tekin (Istanbul, Turkey/Ozel Esenkent Okaynus Anadolu Lisesi/Siena) also tallied 19 points, 16 of which came after halftime, to go with a career-high seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Redshirt sophomore forward
Nate Fouts (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles/Kimball Union Academy) scored a career-best 17 points, nine of which came in the first half. Graduate student guard
Will Amica (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/UAlbany) recorded a career high-tying 16 points, including 12 after halftime, in his return to the lineup after missing four games, while adding five rebounds and three assists. Senior forward
Ocypher Owens (Orlando, Fla./Orlando Christian Prep/Indian River State) recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, while adding a career best-tying four blocks and three assists.
Curry finished the game with 24 points, 12 of which came over the three overtime periods, while adding five rebounds. Jalen Rucker, a Patriot League First Team selection in 2022-23, led all scorers with 34 points, including 15 in the first half and 12 in the overtime periods, while registering 13 rebounds, six steals and five assists. Josh Scovens also recorded a double-double with 24 points, including 14 in the second half, and 10 rebounds.
Le Moyne (3-7), which lost a triple overtime game for the first time in the program's history (3-0 previously (
Iona on 2/26/72, at Bloomsburg on 11/28/84, vs. Pitt.-Johnstown on 11/23/18)), is back in action on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. by hosting Binghamton University in the second annual "Battle for the Interstate".
The Dolphins rallied from a 14-point deficit with under five minutes remaining in the second half to force overtime. After Scovens scored in the paint with 5:07 left for a 67-53 lead, the Dolphins rattled off 10 straight points over 2:03 to cut the margin to four points. Tekin made a free throw and a three-pointer on consecutive possessions and then Owens followed with a three-pointer at the 3:35 mark. On Le Moyne's next possession, Fouts recorded a conventional three-point play to make it 67-63 with 2:41 remaining.
The Black Knights converted two free throws on its next possession to push the lead back to six, but Koroma answered with two free throws of his own and Amica followed with a fast-break lay-up off a steal by Tekin to make it a two-point game with 1:22 left.
After Scovens and Koroma traded lay-ups 20 seconds apart, Scovens made two foul shots with 22 seconds left, but Tekin answered with a lay-up eight seconds later. Scovens was fouled again on the ensuing in-bounds pass, but missed both free throws.
Le Moyne pushed the ball up court, but committed a turnover with just over five second left. The Black Knights fumbled the ensuing in-bounds pass out of bounds with 4.2 seconds left. Off the following in-bounds pass, Koroma converted a lay-up off a feed from Tekin with 2.7 seconds left to knot the score at 73. Army was unable to get a shot off before time expired.
In the first overtime period, Rucker broke a 75-all tie with a three-pointer with 2:28 left. Amica answered with the next four points to put the Dolphins up by a point (their first lead since 24-23) with 1:27 to go.
Rucker countered with a jumper to give the lead back to Army West Point with 1:00 left. After the Dolphins missed on a three-pointer, Blake Barker drew a foul with 34 seconds left and converted both free throws.
Sophomore guard
AJ Dancler (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) responded 11 seconds later with a three-pointer from the left wing to even the score at 82. Tekin was able to steal the ball with four seconds left, but was unable to connect on a desperation shot.
The Black Knights opened up a pair of three-point leads in the opening 90 seconds of the second overtime period, but Fouts answered with a three-pointer with 2:48 left to tie the score at 87. Koroma followed 1:06 later with a put-back lay-up and ensuing free throw to give the Dolphins a three-point edge.
Rucker went 3-for-4 from the foul line around a missed lay-up by the Dolphins to even the score at 90 with 59 seconds to go. After an errant pass by the Dolphins, Curry followed with a lay-up with 20 seconds left to put the Black Knights in front.
Tekin drew a foul for the sixth time in the game with 8.7 seconds left and made both free throws to even the score at 92. Rucker got off a three-pointer from the right corner with two seconds left, but it was short and time expired.
After the Black Knights made a free throw to start the scoring in the third overtime period and Dancler answered with a go-ahead lay-up, Army scored five straight points on a three-pointer by Curry and a fast-break lay-up by Rucker for a 98-94 lead with 2:55 left.
Following baskets in the paint by Owens and Curry, Tekin converted two more free throws with 1:23 left. After an empty possession by the Black Knights, Owens scored in the paint with 37 seconds left to tie the score for the 11th and final time.
The Black Knights used all 30 seconds of the ensuing possession and Curry buried a three-pointer fading to his left with 6.9 seconds remaining.
Dancler was able to get off an off-balance three-pointer from the right wing with three seconds left, but it was long and time expired.
After the Black Knights, specifically Rucker, scored the first five points of the game, the Dolphins answered with eight straight points and 24 of the next 31 to open up a 12-point advantage with 6:58 left in the half. Fifth year guard
Darrick Jones Jr. (Richmond, Va./Oak Hill Academy/Towson) led the charged with eight points, while Fouts had five and Amica had four.
Army answered back with 11 consecutive points and 19 of the next 23 to take a 31-28 lead with 54 seconds left. Rucker led the run with nine points, Scovens had five and Curry capped it with a three-pointer.
Owens closed out the scoring in the half with a lay-up to get the Dolphins within 31-30 at the intermission.
Army scored the first 10 points of the second half to take its first double-digit lead and force a Le Moyne timeout with 17:49 left. Barker made three-pointer, Curry and Scovens made lay-ups and then Rucker hit a three-pointer off a Barker offensive rebound.
The teams traded baskets over the ensuing six minutes as Army's lead bounced between eight and 13 points and was at 13 with 11:57 remaining.
Le Moyne scored the next six points to get within seven with 9:55 left on an Amica jumper, but the Black Knights countered with seven consecutive points to take their first 14-point lead. AJ Allenspach had a conventional three-point play and a lay-up and then Barker made two free throws.
The teams then traded 6-0 spurts, which set up the 67-53 Army lead the Dolphins overcame in the final five minutes.
